Inleiding
BANKGEBOUW met CONCIERGEWONING, in 1920 gebouwd voor de Amsterdamse Incassobank, naar ontwerp van architecten Baanders en D.J. Heusinkveld in Amsterdamse Schoolstijl. Het pand is niet meer als bankgebouw in gebruik.
Omschrijving
Geheel in baksteen en siermetselwerk, opgetrokken voormalige incasso-bank. Het vrijstaande pand heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond met de langsgevel aan de Nobelstraat en links de vrijliggende kopgevel met de ingang, voorts heeft het pand twee - hoge - bouwlagen en plat dak. De gevels worden geleed door over twee bouwlagen doorlopende penanten waartussen terugliggende vensters, schacht en gemetselde kapiteelachtige beeïndigingen. De kelderlichten zijn opgenomen in een strook siermetselwerk. Tussen de penanten draairamen met bovenlichten in smalle stroken, speciaal gevormde diefijzers voor de onderste verdieping. De kroonlijst wordt gevormd door enkele uitgemetselde lagen ondersteund door in de verdieping in lagen gemetselde penanten uitgerust met een abacus. De kopgevel van het gebouw heeft een naar voren liggend deel, waarin het trappenhuis is gesitueerd, de beëindiging van de kopgevel bestaat uit siermetselwerk met zeshoekige en rechthoekige houten vensters.
In de kopgevel is de ingangspartij met in grondplan halfrond gemetselde trap, ijzeren deur en decoratieve lamp erboven. De gevels hebben diverse siersmeedwerken en beelhouwwerk, ondermeer rechts op de hoek een baksteensculptuur van beeldhouwer Hildo Krop, voorstellende een adelaar met een nest jongen en slangen.
Interieur met zeer fraai trappenhuis met ovaal gemetselde pijlers, gemetselde wanden en plafond en glas-in-loodvensters. Voorts op de beganegrond een grote zaal met interieurafwerking in hout en gekleurd metselwerk, in deze ruimte een trap naar de kelder met decoratief metselwerk en siersmeedwerk. Tevens op de begane grond een oorspronkelijke draaideur. Kelder met diverse restanten van het bankinterieur, ondermeer hekwerk en deuren in Amsterdamse Schoolstijl.
Waardering
Voormalige Incassobank van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische waarde als goed en gaaf voorbeeld van Amsterdamse School en tevens vanwege het materiaalgebruik en de zorgvuldige detaillering. Het pand vervult tevens een beeldbepalende rol vanwege de prominente ligging op de hoek

Description
Former incasso bank constructed entirely in brick and decorative brickwork. The freestanding building has a rectangular floor plan with the long side facade on the Nobelstraat and on the left the freestanding front facade with the entrance, furthermore the building has two - high - storeys and flat roof. The facades are articulated by pilaster strips rising through two storeys between which recessed windows, shafts and moulded capital-like terminations. The cellar lights are incorporated in a band of decorative brickwork. Between the pilasters casement windows with fanlights in narrow strips, specially formed iron profiles for the lower storey. The cornice is formed by several projecting brick courses supported by pilaster strips laid up in layers on the storey, equipped with an abacus. The front facade of the building has a projecting section, in which the staircase is situated; the termination of the front facade consists of decorative brickwork with hexagonal and rectangular wooden windows.
In the front facade is the entrance arrangement with a half-round moulded staircase in plan, iron door and decorative lamp above. The facades have various decorative ironwork and sculpture, among other things on the right at the corner a brick sculpture by sculptor Hildo Krop, representing an eagle with a nest of young and serpents.
Interior with very fine staircase with oval moulded pillars, moulded walls and ceiling and leaded glass windows. Furthermore on the ground floor a large hall with interior finishing in wood and coloured brickwork, in this space a staircase to the cellar with decorative brickwork and decorative ironwork.
