Inleiding
WOON-WINKELPAND, gebouwd in 1877 naar ontwerp van architect J. Nijland in een van diverse historische stijlen afgeleide bouwstijl.
De recente winkelpui is hier van rijksbescherming uitgesloten.
Omschrijving
Smal, hoog pand op rechthoekige plattegrond van drie bouwlagen en oorspronkelijk mansardekap. Drie traveeën brede gepleisterde gevel met op begane grond recente - wel in drie traveeën gedeelde - winkelpui. Tweede en derde bouwlaag met aan weerszijden pilasters (kolossale orde) met verdiept veld. Tussen de T-schuiframen op tweede bouwlaag pilasters op extra hoog basement, waartussen Franse balkons met stenen balustrade, en op de derde bouwlaag gecanneleerde korintische halfzuilen.
Tussen tweede en derde bouwlaag geprofileerde lijst, derde bouwlaag afgesloten met brede lijst met terra-cotta decoraties met risalerend hoofdgestel voor de middelste travee en daarboven gebroken fronton, met doorstekende en met fronton bekroonde dakkapel. Voorts is de gevel op meerdere plaatsen nog gedecoreerd met opgelegde terra-cotta decoraties.

Description
Narrow, tall building on a rectangular plan of three storeys and originally a mansard roof. Three bays wide plastered façade with on the ground floor a recent - though divided into three bays - shop front. Second and third storeys with pilasters on either side (colossal order) with a recessed field. Between the T-sash windows on the second storey pilasters on an extra high basement, with French balconies between them with stone balustrade, and on the third storey fluted Corinthian half-columns.
Between the second and third storeys a moulded cornice, third storey finished with a wide cornice with terra-cotta decorations with a projecting main entablature for the middle bay and above it a broken pediment, with a protruding and pediment-crowned dormer. Furthermore, the façade is decorated in several places with applied terra-cotta decorations.

Residential-shop house of general importance due to its architecturally historical value as an example of a building erected in forms derived from various building styles with terra-cotta decorations.
