Wolvenplein 27 - Gevangenis - ringmuur
Omschrijving Complexonderdeel 3
RINGMUUR en HEKWERK verbonden met de gevangenis, de muur uitgevoerd in baksteen met een zandstenen afdekband, aan de buitenzijde voorzien van brede beren. Aan de stadszijde overgaande in een hekwerk bestaande uit ijzeren spijlen op een met hardstenen platen afgedekte gemetselde lage muur.
Waardering
Ringmuur met hekwerk van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische waarde als onderdeel van de gevangeniscomplex Wolvenplein en als zodanig van waarde vanuit het oogpunt van de geschiedenis van de straftoepassing. Tevens van algemeen belang vanwege de stedenbouwkundig waarde als markant visueel gegeven aan de singelzijde.

RING WALL and IRONWORK connected to the prison, the wall executed in brick with a sandstone coping band, provided on the exterior with broad buttresses. On the town side transitioning into ironwork consisting of iron spikes on a low brick wall topped with hardstone slabs.
Valuation
Ring wall with ironwork of general importance on account of cultural-historical value as part of the Wolvenplein prison complex and as such of value from the perspective of the history of punishment administration. Also of general importance on account of urban planning value as a striking visual element at the canal side.
