Omschrijving onderdeel 2:
HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG behorende tot de buitenplaats Oldengaerde. Deels in structuur en deels in detail gaaf bewaarde 18de-eeuwse aanleg bestaande uit een rechthoekige omgrachting met dubbele singels aan drie zijden en enkele singel aan voorzijde, waarbinnen het ensemble van huis en hof is gesitueerd. Het huis ligt op een lange middenas gevormd door een zichtlaan voor het huis en een zichtkanaal ('grand canal') achter het huis. De dieptewerking en oneindigheid van deze zichtas wordt versterkt door de opening in beplanting van de singel met een doorzicht naar het achterliggende weiland; als 'point de vue' staat op de singel een tuinbeeld (Hercules; zie aparte omschrijving), met aan weerszijden een oude beuk. Het kanaal wordt geflankeerd door rechthoekige grasparterres (oorspronkelijk boomgaarden). Direct achter het huis ligt een iets verdiept glooiend gazon met randbeplanting. Ten noorden hiervan ligt een oude boomgaard. Het voorplein is thans ingericht met een druppelvormig gazon met een rondgaand pad. Na de afbraak van het rechter bouwhuis (1825) is het gedeelte aldaar verhoogd en beplant met een bomengroep (eik, linden en beuk) en, naast het huis, een monumentale rode beuk. Langs het rondgaande pad staan natuurstenen bouwfragmenten (onderdelen van tuinvazen en voetstukken van banken). Voor het huis loopt een lichtgebogen gracht waarlangs oude eiken. Rechthoekige singel rondom, deels met nieuwe aanplant; achter het huis een breed pad met eiken en beuken. Ten zuiden van het huis ligt een rabattenbos van gemengd loofbos (op de kadastrale kaart 1831 als hakhoutbos aangegeven). Door het bos loopt een diagonaal pad (zie kaart ca.1780). Aan de overzijde van het Westeinde ligt de OVERTUIN, bestaande uit een dubbel beplante zichtlaan in de as van het huis geflankeerd door weiden. In de linker weide staan verschillende solitairen (rode beuk), de rechter weide heeft aan de buitenrand, die ovaal verloopt, verschillende bomen/solitairen of eenzijdige laanbeplanting van beuken en linden. Aan het einde van de zichtlaan is aan de rechterzijde een lichte glooiing met een kring van linden - alwaar vroeger een theehuisje. Links van de laan ligt een wandelbosje met restanten van slingerpaden, veel hulst, oude eiken en beuken en een diagonaal pad naar de aanpalende boerderij.

HISTORIC GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT belonging to the country estate Oldengaerde. Partly in structure and partly in detail well-preserved 18th-century layout consisting of a rectangular moat with double tree-lined strips on three sides and single tree-lined strip on the front side, within which the ensemble of house and yard is situated. The house is located on a long central axis formed by a sight lane in front of the house and a sight canal ('grand canal') behind the house. The depth effect and infinity of this sight axis is reinforced by the opening in planting of the tree-lined strip with a view through to the meadow behind; as 'point de vue' stands on the tree-lined strip a garden statue (Hercules; see separate description), with on either side an old beech. The canal is flanked by rectangular grass parterres (originally orchards). Directly behind the house lies a slightly sunken sloping lawn with edge planting. To the north of this lies an old orchard. The forecourt is now laid out with a teardrop-shaped lawn with a surrounding path. After the demolition of the right-hand farmhouse (1825) the area there was raised and planted with a group of trees (oak, linden and beech) and, next to the house, a monumental red beech. Along the surrounding path stand natural stone building fragments (parts of garden vases and bases of benches). In front of the house runs a gently curved moat along which old oaks stand. Rectangular tree-lined strip around, partly with new planting; behind the house a broad path with oaks and beeches. To the south of the house lies a coppice wood of mixed deciduous forest (indicated on the cadastral map of 1831 as coppice forest). A diagonal path runs through the wood (see map c.1780). On the far side of the Westeinde lies the OVERTUIN, consisting of a double-planted sight lane in the axis of the house flanked by meadows. In the left meadow stand various solitary trees (red beech), the right meadow has on its outer edge, which runs oval, various trees/solitary trees or one-sided avenue planting of beeches and lindens. At the end of the sight lane on the right side is a gentle slope with a circle of lindens - where formerly a tea house stood. To the left of the lane lies a walking wood with remnants of winding paths, much holly, old oaks and beeches and a diagonal path to the adjoining farmhouse.
