Omschrijving
Inleiding

Description
Introduction
The stelpboerderij "St. Ursula" is located at the Ursuladijk, on the southern side of the road and is oriented towards the north; two BOLLARDS of Wormerse stone with the name of the farm mark the path to the farmyard. The farm was built in 1884 in Craftsman-traditional style by contractor Kl. Wielinga from Idskenhuizen (St. Nicolaasga), on behalf of Mr. Poppe Popkes, to replace an older farm that had been demolished shortly before. The large, high milk cellar on the cool northeastern side of the main house is characteristic of farm construction from the period of transition from dairy production on the farm to the factory.
Description
The farm has a rectangular plan and is covered by a hipped roof with two chimneys with boards. On the front part are black glazed Dutch tiles, on the barn section red Dutch tiles. The farm is built in brown brick; yellow bricks are used for the decorative elements. A plinth of yellow brick marks the base of the facades, a fairly high main cornice with blocks forms the transition to the roof slopes of the main house section. The front facade is symmetrically divided by an imposing but shallow central risalit, which is three windows wide. The central risalit is two storeys high and is covered by a shallow gabled roof with cut wind vane. Blocked "mouldings" of yellow brick mark the corners of the central risalit. On the first and second storeys are three slightly curved T-windows placed with surrounds of yellow brick. The gable top has some decorative brickwork.
To the west of the central risalit are three slightly curved T-windows with brick surrounds; to the east of it three small, slightly curved milk cellar windows with T-configuration and six-pane fanlight with above them three wooden shutters with brick surrounds. Blocked "mouldings" of yellow brick mark the corners of the front facade.
In the eastern side facade are, from front to back, two slightly curved T-windows with six-pane fanlight, a wooden front door with lower panel and cast-iron ornamental grille, and two T-windows; in the barn section are a door and sixteen-pane stable windows with iron glazing bars. In the western side facade are two slightly curved T-windows with brick surrounds, a wooden door, and in the stable section a wooden stable door and six-pane windows with iron glazing bars. The rear facade - which is bounded on both sides by brick, blocked 'corner mouldings' - is provided from left to right with a high carriage entrance with multi-pane fanlight, iron stable windows and a wooden low carriage entrance. Next to this door is a brick toilet, a "húske", built out.
The INTERIOR is largely original, both in structure and in arrangement. The front door leads to the long white-tiled corridor, which separates the residential section from the stable section. On the right, to the northeast, is the old, large milk cellar with brick trough-vaults, which was used for the preparation of cheese and butter. Next to it is a large room with tiled walls of Makkum manufacture. In this room, among other things, the beam ceiling, wooden floor, window sills and cupboards with alcove are original; in the room to the northwest, among other things, the cupboard walls, the beam ceiling, the fireplace with imitation-marble motifs and mirror, the bed alcoves and the tiled walls. The barn with Dutch stable, hayloft and a section for small livestock, is no longer in use as such but is still original in layout.
