Inleiding
Het LANDHUIS "De (Nieuwe) Borg" is onderdeel van het landgoed Borgbeuningen. "De Borg" werd gebouwd ter vervanging van het Huis Borgbeuningen dat tot die tijd als versterkt huis van de landeigenaar centraal in het landgoed had gestaan. De familie Palthe kreeg het landgoed in 1832 in haar bezit en liet in 1902 "de Borg" bouwen naast het huis Borgbeuningen. Het ontwerp voor dit nieuwe buitenverblijf kwam van de architect Karel Muller. Deze architect ontwierp aan het begin van deze eeuw verscheidene buitenverblijven in een landelijke stijl. Een voorbeeld daarvan is het huis "de Borg", met motieven ontleend aan de Chalet- en Cottagestijl. In 1912 werd aan de zuidelijke gevel van het huis een veranda gebouwd. "De Borg" ligt iets van de weg af, in een bosrijke omgeving vlakbij het sterrebos dat eveneens onderdeel van het landgoed is, maar voor bescherming van ondergeschikt belang is.

Rechthoekig witgepleisterd pand op een verhoogde stenen plint opgetrokken over één bouwlaag. Het samengestelde rietgedekte schilddak heeft dakkapellen met getoogde dubbele twaalfruits vensters. Op het dak staat een rietgedekte dakruiter met bolbekroning. De entree in de voorgevel (ZW) heeft een stenen trap en een rietgedekte overkapping op houten kolommen. Rechts van de entree bevindt zich een venster met halve luiken en een achttienruits bovenlicht. Aan de andere zijde van de entree is een klein toiletraam geplaatst. De gevel wordt horizontaal verdeeld door een strook vakwerk. Daarboven bevinden zich drie vijftienruits vensters met luiken. De geveltop is beschoten. De zuidoostelijke gevel heeft een veranda die zich onder een opgewipt dakschild bevindt dat gedragen wordt door houten kolommen en korbelen. Grote terrasdeuren bieden toegang tot het huis. Naast de veranda, die toegankelijk is via enkele treden is een venster met halve luiken en een achttienruits bovenlicht geplaatst. Boven de veranda en dit venster twee dakkapellen. Het rechter deel van deze gevel risaleert onder een steekkap en heeft vakwerk en een venster op de verdieping. De geveltop is beschoten. Op de begane grond bevindt zich een klein venster met een luik. De rondboog portiek daarnaast heeft een entreepartij met glazen deuren. De gevel op de verdieping is ingevuld met vakwerk en voorzien van twee dubbele tienruits vensters met luiken. De geveltop is beschoten.
Ook de achtergevel (NO) heeft een veranda onder een opgewipt dakschild. Er bevinden zich twee dubbele terrasdeuren met glas-in-lood bovenlichten achter de veranda. Het rechterdeel van de veranda heeft een windraam. Het dakdeel boven deze gevelzijde heeft een dakkapel. In het rechter deel van de noordwestelijke zijgevel zijn, onder een segmentboog, tuindeuren met glas-in-lood bovenlichten geplaatst. Daarnaast is de gevel voorzien van twee vensters met halve luiken en vijftienruits bovenlichten, twee deuren en een achtruits venster. Boven deze gevel zijn drie dakkapellen geplaatst. Het interieur bevindt zich in originele staat. De woonkamer heeft onder meer zware houten plafondbalken en een houten schouw.

The facade is divided horizontally by a strip of half-timbering. Above this are three fifteen-pane windows with shutters. The gable end is boarded. The southeastern facade has a veranda which is under a tilted roof panel that is supported by wooden columns and corbels. Large terrace doors provide access to the house. Beside the veranda, which is accessible via several steps, a window with half shutters and an eighteen-pane fanlight is placed. Above the veranda and this window two roof dormers. The right part of this facade projects under a pitched roof and has half-timbering and a window on the upper storey. The gable end is boarded. On the ground floor there is a small window with a shutter. The round arch porch next to it has an entrance arrangement with glazed doors. The facade on the upper storey is filled in with half-timbering and provided with two double ten-pane windows with shutters. The gable end is boarded.
The rear facade (NE) also has a veranda under a tilted roof panel. There are two double terrace doors with leaded fanlights behind the veranda. The right part of the veranda has a transom window. The roof section above this gable side has a roof dormer. In the right part of the northwestern side facade, under a segmental arch, garden doors with leaded fanlights are placed. Next to this, the facade is provided with two windows with half shutters and fifteen-pane fanlights, two doors and an eight-pane window. Above this facade three roof dormers are placed. The interior is in original condition. The living room has among other things heavy wooden ceiling beams and a wooden chimney breast.
