Omschrijving
Rechthoekig KETELHUIS met KOLENBUNKER, IJZEROPSLAG, POMPENLOKALEN en SMEDERIJ uit 1926-'28. Het onderkelderde ketelhuis is opgetrokken in rode machinale baksteen. Het zadeldak is gedekt met grijze Hollandse pannen. De voorgevel (Z) is voorzien van drie gevelvelden die onder de dakaanzet door een klimmend keperboogfries worden afgesloten. De gevel heeft een granieten top en schouderstukken. De entree in het linker, risalerende deel van de voorgevel is binnen een granieten omlijsting met een gekruld fronton geplaatst. De toegang is bereikbaar via een gemetselde trap met ijzeren balustrade. De in rode baksteen opgetrokken KOLENBUNKER die aan de rechterzijde van het ketelhuis staat, is aan de voorzijde hoog en smal opgetrokken met een plat dak en heeft een betonnen draagconstructie met vullingen van baksteen. De voorgevel kraagt vanaf de tweede verdieping uit en wordt ondersteund door betonnen consoles. De vier traveeën op de begane grond zijn voorzien van zestienruits vensters met daarboven achtruits vensters, gescheiden door een betonnen latei en een gemetselde borstwering. De bovenzijde van de bunker wordt rondom afgesloten met een strook van steeds twee vensters onder een iets uitkragende, betonnen daklijst. De entree van de bunker bevindt zich in de smalle zijgevel (O). Het interieur van de kolenbunker verkeert nog in originele staat. In het interieur bevinden zich ondermeer de lift om de kolen tot bovenin de bunker te transporteren, de drie betonnen silo's, en de transportband. Achter de kolenbunker ligt de IJZEROPSLAG, een één verdieping hoog bouwdeel op eveneens rechthoekige grondslag, voorzien van een door stalen spanten gedragen mansarde kap. Achter de ijzeropslag liggen de POMPENLOKALEN, beide delen zijn drie bouwlagen hoog. Het tegen de ijzeropslag grenzende deel is voorzien van een zadeldak en het hoge zuidwestelijke deel van een licht hellend lessenaardak. In de meest zuidwestelijke hoe van het gebouw ligt de transformatorruimte. De gevels van alle bouwdelen zijn voorzien van entrees en raampartijen met verschillende groottes en indelingen, het merendeel van de vensters is geplaatst tussen wit geschilderde betonnen boven- en onderdorpels. De roedenverdelingen zijn eveneens wit geschilderd. Het zuidwestelijk gelegen pompenlokaal heeft blinde gevels.
Waardering

Rectangular BOILERHOUSE with COAL BUNKER, IRON STORAGE, PUMP ROOMS and BLACKSMITH'S SHOP from 1926-'28. The basement boilerhouse is constructed in red machine-made brick. The gabled roof is covered with grey Dutch tiles. The front facade (S) is provided with three facade sections that are terminated below the roof line by a rising herringbone bond frieze. The facade has a granite top and shoulder pieces. The entrance in the left, projecting part of the front facade is placed within a granite frame with a curved pediment. Access is reached via a brick staircase with iron balustrade. The COAL BUNKER constructed in red brick, which stands on the right side of the boilerhouse, is constructed tall and narrow at the front with a flat roof and has a concrete supporting structure with brick infill. The front facade projects from the second floor and is supported by concrete consoles. The four bays on the ground floor are provided with sixteen-pane windows with eight-pane windows above, separated by a concrete lintel and a brick parapet. The top of the bunker is enclosed all around with a band of two windows each under a slightly projecting concrete eaves line. The entrance to the bunker is located in the narrow side facade (E). The interior of the coal bunker remains in original condition. The interior contains, among other things, the lift to transport the coal to the top of the bunker, the three concrete silos, and the conveyor belt. Behind the coal bunker lies the IRON STORAGE, a single-storey building element on an equally rectangular ground plan, fitted with a mansard roof supported by steel trusses. Behind the iron storage lie the PUMP ROOMS, both sections are three storeys high. The section adjoining the iron storage is provided with a gabled roof and the tall south-western section with a slightly sloping lean-to roof. In the most south-western corner of the building lies the transformer room. The facades of all building sections are provided with entrances and window arrangements of varying sizes and layouts; the majority of the windows are placed between white-painted concrete upper and lower sills. The glazing bars are also white-painted. The south-western pump room has blind facades.
