Omschrijving
N.H. ZAALKERK met oudere TOREN. De kerk is ontworpen in Waterstaatsstijl door architecten W. Koch en F.C. Koch uit Zwolle. Het gebouw werd geconstrueerd door J.Ch. de Bruyn uit Vaassen en in 1867 voltooid.
De eenbeukige kerk werd vastgebouwd aan de oudere toren. De kerk staat beeldbepalend midden op een plein in het centrum van Heino, omringd door bomen en gras.
In het interieur zijn de wanden aangesmeerd met isolerend materiaal.
Omschrijving
De kerk is opgetrokken in rode baksteen op een rechthoekige plattegrond onder een zadeldak met antracietgrijze Hollandse pannen en een overstekende goot. De westelijke eindgevel is gebouwd tegen de reeds bestaande toren uit de 15e eeuw. De toren heeft vier geledingen en een tentdak; de spitsboog- vormige ingang bevindt zich in een eveneens spitsboogvormige nis. In de vierde geleding van de toren bevinden zich de spitsboogvormige galmgaten. Het onderste deel van de gevels van de kerk is boven een gladgepleisterde plint gepleisterd met schijnvoegen en wordt afgesloten door een zandstenen waterlijst. Direct daarboven de grote rondboogvensters met tracering en diagonale roedenverdeling. De langsgevels zijn geleed door steunberen, die op de hoeken van de gevels schuin geplaatst zijn. In de oostelijke eindgevel en de zuidelijke langsgevel bevinden zich risalerende ingangsportieken onder aanleunende tentdaken met zink. De westelijke eindgevel heeft een eenvoudige rechtgesloten deur naast een klein rondboogvenster.
Langs de dakranden zijn in het metselwerk rondboogfriezen in gele baksteen verwerkt. In de oostelijke eindgevel is de geveltop voorzien van een arkelachtige bekroning. De middelste vensteras wordt verder benadrukt doordat de twee rondboogvensters (deels) zijn dichtgezet. De tracering is er in reliëf en schilderingen op aangebracht.
Het interieur van de kerk verkeert grotendeels in de oorspronkelijke staat wat betreft indeling en inrichting. Het oorspronkelijke bankenplan van de kerk is georiënteerd op de preekstoel die in het midden tegen de noordelijke langsgevel staat. Oorspronkelijk zijn onder andere de banken, de preekstoel en het balkon.
Tweeklaviers mechanisch orgel gemaakt door E.Leichel onder gebruikmaking van de bestaande orgelkas van H.Haffmans, gemaakt in 1865, uit Doetinchem. In 1968 gerestaureerd door de firma Reil te Heerde.
Waardering
De N.H. zaalkerk en toren zijn van algemeen cultuur-, architectuurhistorisch en stedenbouwkundig belang:

The single-aisle church was built up against the older tower. The church stands as a defining landmark in the centre of a square in the centre of Heino, surrounded by trees and grass.

Description
The church is constructed in red brick on a rectangular floor plan under a gabled roof with anthracite grey Dutch tiles and an overhanging gutter. The western end wall is built against the already existing tower from the 15th century. The tower has four storeys and a pyramidal roof; the pointed arch-shaped entrance is located in an equally pointed arch-shaped recess. In the fourth storey of the tower are the pointed arch-shaped sound holes. The lower part of the church facades is above a smooth-plastered plinth plastered with false joints and is finished with a sandstone drip moulding. Directly above are the large round arch windows with tracery and diagonal glazing bars. The long side walls are articulated by buttresses, which are placed diagonally at the corners of the facades. In the eastern end wall and the southern long wall are projecting entrance porches under lean-to pyramidal roofs with zinc. The western end wall has a simple straight-closed door next to a small round arch window.
Along the roof edges round arch friezes in yellow brick are incorporated into the masonry. In the eastern end wall the gable top is provided with an arch-like crown. The central window bay is further emphasized by the fact that the two round arch windows are (partly) closed up. The tracery is applied in relief and paintings.
The interior of the church remains largely in its original state with regard to layout and furnishings. The original seating plan of the church is oriented towards the pulpit which stands in the middle against the northern long wall. Original elements include among others the benches, the pulpit and the balcony.
Two-manual mechanical organ made by E. Leichel making use of the existing organ case by H. Haffmans, made in 1865, from Doetinchem. In 1968 restored by the firm Reil from Heerde.
