Inleiding
Voormalig PATRONAATSGEBOUW gebouwd in 1920 naar een ontwerp van architect Jos Wielders uit Sittard. De bouwstijl is traditionalistisch met invloeden van Amsterdamse School. Van het oorspronkelijke plan werd een gedeelte niet uitgevoerd. Aan de rechterzijde van de ingangspartij was eenzelfde volume gepland als aan de linkerzijde tot stand kwam.
De diverse aan- en bijbouwen aan de achterzijde van het pand zijn uitgesloten van bescherming.
Omschrijving
Vrijstaand pand op een rechthoekige plattegrond in lengterichting. Het pand telt twee bouwlagen onder een plat dak.
Het toegepaste bouwmateriaal is baksteen; metselwerk in kruisverband. Plint met verticaal metselwerk. Rechthoekige houten deuren en vensters. Bovenlichten met roedeverdeling. Afgeronde en afgeschuinde hoeken.
FRONTGEVEL asymmetrisch ingedeeld. In het rechterdeel van de frontgevel de ingangspartij in een uitgebouwd geveldeel. Dit geveldeel telt een bouwlaag en wordt afgedekt met een plat dak. Dubbele deur iets terugliggend, deze dateert van omstreeks 1980. Bovenlicht voorzien van een betimmering eveneens van omstreeks 1980. Op de dakrand een borstwering die ter hoogte van de deur is doorbroken en aan weerszijden wordt bekroond met een krulvormig hardstenen ornament. Uitgebouwd geveldeel met afgeschuinde hoeken met hierin rechthoekige vensters met bovenlichten.
Terugliggend geveldeel met in de eerste bouwlaag aan weerszijden van de uitgebouwde ingangspartij een hoog erkerachtig venster. In de tweede bouwlaag een horizontale reeks van zes vensters gescheiden door een kunststenen pilaster. Aan de bovenzijde van deze vensterreeks zes kleine metalen roostertjes. Dakrand met borstwering bekleed met bitumen. Linkerdeel frontgevel met in de eerste bouwlaag geheel links authentieke dubbele deur met spitsboogvormig bovenlicht met roedeverdeling. Aan de bovenzijde van dit bovenlicht een hoog smal erkerachtig glas-in-lood venster met roedeverdeling. Aan de rechterzijde van deur een groot rechthoekig venster met bovenlichten met roedeverdeling. In de tweede bouwlaag twee vensters met roedeverdeling. Blinde RECHTERZIJGEVEL. In het rechterdeel van de rechterzijgevel een uitbouw in twee bouwlagen met een plat dak. In deze uitbouw in de eerste bouwlaag een deur en een hoekvenster, en in de tweede bouwlaag een hoekvenster.
In de LINKERZIJGEVEL in de eerste bouwlaag vier rechthoekige vensters met bovenlichten. In de tweede bouwlaag een rechthoekig driedelig venster en twee kleine vierkante vensters.
ACHTERGEVEL geheel gecementeerd. Twee uitbouwen in twee bouwlagen met plat dak. Vensters en deuren in achtergevel van omstreeks 1980. Aan het rechterdeel van de achtergevel een aanbouw in een bouwlaag van omstreeks 1990. Structuur van het INTERIEUR is beperkt in tact.
Waardering
Het voormalig patronaatsgebouw is van cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een culturele, geestelijke en typologische ontwikkeling. Het gebouw bezit architectuurhistorische waarde vanwege zijn bijzonder belang voor de bovenregionale geschiedenis van de architectuur en als voorbeeld van het oeuvre van architect Jos Wielders. Ensemblewaarde ontleent het pand aan de situering aan de Sittarderweg in de onmiddellijke nabijheid van een kleine woninggroep en daarmee van belang voor het aanzien van dit deel van Heerlen. Het gebouw is tenslotte van algemeen belang wegens de redelijke mate van architectonische gaafheid van het exterieur en de architectuurhistorische, typologische en functionele zeldzaamheid.

Former PATRONAGE BUILDING built in 1920 to a design by architect Jos Wielders from Sittard. The architectural style is traditionalist with influences from the Amsterdam School. A portion of the original plan was not executed. On the right side of the entrance section, a volume identical to that completed on the left side had been planned.

Description
Detached building on a rectangular ground plan in lengthwise orientation. The building has two storeys under a flat roof.
The building material used is brick; masonry in Flemish bond. Plinth with vertical masonry. Rectangular wooden doors and windows. Fanlights with glazing bars. Rounded and chamfered corners.
FRONT FACADE asymmetrically arranged. In the right part of the front facade the entrance section in a projecting facade element. This facade element has one storey and is covered with a flat roof. Double door set slightly back, dating from circa 1980. Fanlight provided with boarding also from circa 1980. On the roof edge a parapet which at the height of the door is broken through and on both sides is crowned with a curled ornamental sandstone feature. Projecting facade element with chamfered corners containing rectangular windows with fanlights.
Recessed facade element with in the first storey on both sides of the projecting entrance section a tall oriel window. In the second storey a horizontal row of six windows separated by a stone-coloured pilaster. At the top of this window row six small metal grilles. Roof edge with parapet clad with bitumen. Left part of front facade with in the first storey at the far left an authentic double door with pointed-arch fanlight with glazing bars. At the top of this fanlight a tall narrow oriel leaded light window with glazing bars. To the right of the door a large rectangular window with fanlights with glazing bars. In the second storey two windows with glazing bars. Blind RIGHT SIDE FACADE. In the right part of the right side facade an extension in two storeys with a flat roof. In this extension in the first storey a door and a corner window, and in the second storey a corner window.
In the LEFT SIDE FACADE in the first storey four rectangular windows with fanlights. In the second storey a rectangular three-part window and two small square windows.
REAR FACADE entirely cement-rendered. Two extensions in two storeys with flat roof. Windows and doors in rear facade from circa 1980. At the right part of the rear facade an outbuilding in one storey from circa 1990. The structure of the INTERIOR is limited and intact.
Valuation
The former patronage building possesses cultural-historical value as a distinctive expression of a cultural, spiritual and typological development. The building possesses architectural-historical value due to its particular significance for the supra-regional history of architecture and as an example of the oeuvre of architect Jos Wielders. Ensemble value is derived from the building's situation on the Sittarderweg in the immediate vicinity of a small housing group and thereby of significance for the appearance of this part of Heerlen.
