Inleiding
Het TOILETGEBOUW of retiradegebouw annex bergplaats werd in 1903 onder maatschappij-gebonden architectuur bij het station van de Noord-Friesche Locaal-Spoorwegmaatschappij gebouwd. Na de opheffing van de spoorverbinding en het station per 2 oktober 1961, is het toiletgebouw ernstig in verval geraakt, maar wegens de ensemblewaarde van zodanig belang dat het als afzonderlijk onderdeel van het complex wordt beschermd.
Omschrijving
Het bijgebouw heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond en is naar functie in verschillende materialen opgetrokken: het eigenlijke toiletgebouw is opgetrokken in baksteen en de bergplaats is getimmerd in hout. Het geheel is onder een flauw hellend dak eertijds bekleed met zink, met een ruim overstek en een kleine sierspant. Het metselwerk bestaat uit donkerbruine bakstenen verlevendigd met twee banden in gele bakstenen. In de noordgevel twee deurkozijnen: één naar het houten gemak, de andere naar de ruimte met twee urinoirs; in de zijgevel twee ronde ventilatie-openingen.
De bergplaats heeft verticaal houtbeschot met een afdeklat op de naden tussen het beschot. In de noordgevel een tweeruitsvenster; in de westgevel een opgeklampte deur met bovenlicht.
Waardering
Het toiletgebouw of retiradegebouw annex bergplaats uit 1903 is van algemeen cultuurhistorisch belang:

Introduction
The TOILET BUILDING or privy building together with storage space was built in 1903 under company-bound architecture with the station of the Noord-Friesche Locaal-Spoorwegmaatschappij. After the closure of the railway line and the station on 2 October 1961, the toilet building fell into serious decay, but because of the ensemble value it is of such importance that it is protected as a separate component of the complex.
Description
The outbuilding has a rectangular plan and is constructed in different materials according to function: the actual toilet building is constructed in brick and the storage space is constructed of wood. The whole is under a gently sloping roof formerly covered in zinc, with a substantial overhang and a small decorative rafter. The brickwork consists of dark brown bricks enlivened with two bands in yellow bricks. In the north facade two door openings: one to the wooden privy, the other to the space with two urinals; in the side facade two round ventilation openings.
The storage space has vertical wood cladding with a covering batten on the joints between the cladding. In the north facade a two-pane window; in the west facade an attached door with fanlight.
Valuation
The toilet building or privy building together with storage space from 1903 is of general cultural-historical significance:
