Inleiding
Het KAASPAKHUIS aan de Eendrachtstraat is omstreeks 1900 gebouwd. In 1997 is het intern verbouwd tot twee apartementen. Het pakhuis vertoont grote overeenkomst met een ander kaaspakhuis aan de Utrechtsestraatweg nr. 19, gebouwd in 1906. De stad Woerden kreeg in 1885 een kaasmarkt en tientallen kaaspakhuizen verrezen in en nabij de oude stadskern.
Omschrijving
Het kaaspakhuis gebouwd omstreeks 1900 in neorenaissancetrant is een een diep rechthoekig pand, bestaande uit tweeënhalve bouwlaag onder een mansardedak met de nok haaks op de weg en gedekt met grijze platte Friese pannen. De voorgevel bekroond door een geprofileerde afdeklijst, heeft en symmetrische indeling, op de begane grond voorzien van een dubbele deur met aan weerszijden een rondboogvenster, op de verdieping eveneens een dubbele deur met twee rondboogvensters en op de zolder een drielichtsvenster. De vensters zijn voorzien van X-vormige roedenverdeling. De boogvelden boven de vensters en deuren zijn gepleisterd met uitzondering van die boven het zoldervenster. Hier is siermetselwerk van rode, zwarte en witte steen toegepast. Rond de vensters en deuren is een omlijsting van rode verblendsteen aangebracht. Het metselwerk in kruisverband is gelardeerd met witgepleisterde banden, voorts zijn sierankers toegepast.
De linkerzijgevel bevat op de begane grond negen vensters en twee nieuwe deuren en op de verdieping elf vensters, alle tweeruitsvensters, voorzien van een luik.
De rechterzijgevel is een scheidingsgevel.
De achtergevel heeft op de begane grond en de verdieping twee achtruits-stolpvensters met luiken en op de zolder één venster.
Waardering
Het object is van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische waarde als herkenbaar voorbeeld van een kaaspakhuis, alsmede vanwege de bouwstijl in neorenaissancetrant. Tevens vanwege de cultuurhistorische waarde binnen de ontwikkelingsgeschiedenis van de kaashandel in het algemeen en van Woerden in het bijzonder.

Introduction
The CHEESE WAREHOUSE on the Eendrachtstraat was built circa 1900. In 1997 it was internally converted into two apartments. The warehouse shows great similarity to another cheese warehouse on the Utrechtsestraatweg no. 19, built in 1906. The city of Woerden acquired a cheese market in 1885 and dozens of cheese warehouses sprang up in and near the old town centre.
Description
The cheese warehouse built circa 1900 in neo-Renaissance style is a deep rectangular property consisting of two and a half storeys under a mansard roof with the ridge perpendicular to the road and covered with grey flat Frisian tiles. The front gable crowned by a moulded cornice has a symmetrical layout, on the ground floor provided with a double door with a round-arch window on each side, on the first floor likewise a double door with two round-arch windows and on the attic storey a three-light window. The windows are provided with X-shaped glazing bars. The tympana above the windows and doors are rendered with the exception of that above the attic window. Here decorative brickwork of red, black and white stone is applied. Around the windows and doors is a surround of red facing brick. The brickwork in cross bond is interspersed with whitewashed bands, furthermore ornamental wall anchors are applied.
The left side gable contains on the ground floor nine windows and two new doors and on the first floor eleven windows, all two-pane windows, provided with a shutter.
The right side gable is a party wall.
The rear gable has on the ground floor and the first floor two rear-pane casement windows with shutters and on the attic storey one window.
Valuation
The object is of general importance because of its architectural historical value as a recognisable example of a cheese warehouse, as well as because of the building style in neo-Renaissance manner. Also because of its cultural historical value within the development history of the cheese trade in general and of Woerden in particular.
