Omschrijving
Een in gesinterde steen opgetrokken ZITBANK, opgericht ter ere van het huwelijk van Prinses Juliana en Prins Bernhard. De bank bestaat uit een langwerpige gemetselde achterwand, waartegenaan de zitting is gemetseld. Deze is ingeklemd tussen twee massieve, half rondlopende, opgemetselde leuningen en is bekleed met langwerpige houten planken. De leuningen hebben een platte natuurstenen afdekplaat met een inscriptie in de rand: in de ene staat "Juliana" en in de andere "Bernhard". Middenboven in de achterwand van de bank is een natuurstenen gedenksteen met het jaartal "1937" erin gegrift. De klinkerbestrating voor de bank bakent hem af van de openbare ruimte eromheen.
Waardering
De zitbank uit 1937 te Kollum is van algemeen belang:

Description
A BENCH constructed in sintered stone, erected in honour of the marriage of Princess Juliana and Prince Bernhard. The bench consists of an oblong brick rear wall, against which the seating is bricked. This is wedged between two massive, half-rounded, brick built armrests and is fitted with oblong wooden planks. The armrests have a flat natural stone coping plate with an inscription in the edge: on one it says "Juliana" and on the other "Bernhard". In the middle above the rear wall of the bench is a natural stone memorial stone with the year "1937" carved into it. The brick paving in front of the bench demarcates it from the public space around it.
Evaluation
The bench from 1937 at Kollum is of general importance:
- as a spatially and functionally essential component of the complex;
- as a memorial to a national event;
- because of the contemporary design, in harmony with the town hall.
