Inleiding
TUIN aan de achterzijde van het hoofdhuis grenzend aan de IJssel, in de tweede helft van de 19e eeuw, waarschijnlijk tegelijk met nieuwe aanleg van de overtuin, vormgegeven in een eenvoudige Landschapsstijl.
Omschrijving
Tuin met slingerpaden en een eenvoudige beplanting in de vorm van bodembedekkers. In de zuid-oosthoek van de tuin bevindt zich een tuinsieraad (piedestal) en in het midden van de tuin is in 1694 een beuk geplant als reminiscentie aan het jaar waarin Adriaan Bisdom zich in Haastrecht vestigde.
Waardering
De landschappelijk aangelegde tuin met tuinornamenten is cultuurhistorisch van algemeen belang vanwege het invloedrijke bewonersgeslacht dat in het erbij behorend pand zetelde en het belang dat regentenfamilies in de negentiende eeuw hechtten aan het ontwerpen en aanleggen van een parkachtige tuin. Tevens is de tuin van algemeen belang vanwege de beplantingswijze met slingerpaden en is een representatief voorbeeld voor een aanleg uit het eind van de vorige eeuw en als zodanig nog duidelijk herkenbaar.

GARDEN at the rear of the main house adjoining the IJssel, in the second half of the 19th century, probably laid out at the same time as the new arrangement of the upper garden, designed in a simple Landscape style.

Garden with winding paths and simple planting in the form of ground cover. In the south-east corner of the garden there is a garden ornament (pedestal) and in the middle of the garden a beech tree was planted in 1694 as a reminiscence of the year in which Adriaan Bisdom established himself in Haastrecht.
Valuation
The landscape-designed garden with garden ornaments is of general cultural-historical significance because of the influential resident family that occupied the associated building and the importance that regent families attached in the nineteenth century to designing and laying out a park-like garden.
