Inleiding
TOEGANGSHEK met HEKPIJLERS staat in de middenas van het oudste gedeelte van de uit het eind van de 19de eeuw stammende Algemene Begraafplaats.
Omschrijving
Concaaf gebogen toegangshek bestaat uit ijzeren spijlen, geplaatst tussen betonnen hekpijlers met spaarvelden onder een afdekplaat met knopvormige bekroning.
Waardering
Het laat 19de-eeuwse toegangshek met hekpijlers is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische- en ensemblewaarde doordat het de entree markeert van het oudste deel van Algemene Begraafplaats en vanwege de ruimtelijke en functionele samenhang met de over complexonderdelen. Het toegangshek is gaaf in hoofdvorm, materiaalgebruik en detaillering.
