The register's description

Inleiding:

Introduction:

LONG-GABLE FARMHOUSE from 1880 with cross-wing, built as a mixed enterprise in artisanal-traditional style. The farmhouse, which stands freely on the plot, has a rectangular plan with the long front or west gable facing the Laan ten Boomen. On the farmyard a bakehouse from 1920.

Description:

The single-storey farmhouse has a half-hipped roof covered with new improved Dutch tiles. The symmetrical residential section consists of five bays with the front door in the middle. In the fanlight of the front door an ornamental cast-iron tree of life.

Six-pane sash windows with shutters with at the top a jalousie or venetian blind. The masonry consists of hand-formed bricks laid in cross-bond with a plastered plinth at the front. The wall openings with decorative brick header course.

Under the eaves a dentil band.

In the outer wall of the business section there are in the front gable two large wall openings with basket-arch doors.

Further north in the wall is the start of a third basket-arch door, which was probably closed with masonry at the end of the previous century. Originally behind these doors from north to south were: threshing barn with cart stable, grain storage and cattle shed. Above these under the roof the hayloft and storage space. Cast-iron stable windows with geometric glazing bars. The churning of milk on this farmhouse was done mechanically, by having a dog walk in a treadmill. In the rear gable, there is still summarily visible in the masonry the place where this churn mill was positioned. The interior of the farmhouse still has a "good" room with an adjoining wooden bed-wall of cherry wood, an upper room with cellar and potato cellar and a later added corridor.

In the business section the wall between stable and grain storage/threshing floor has recently been removed. The bakehouse, of which the oven is no longer present, has a gabled roof covered with old Dutch tiles.

On the farmyard which is bordered by a beech hedge and among other things five linden trees, two walnut trees and standard fruit trees.

Valuation:

The long-gable farmhouse with farmyard and planting is of general importance. The building is of cultural-historical importance as an example of the socio-economic development of agriculture in the Peel region. It is also important as an example of the typological development and innovation of the long-gable farmhouse and represents a phase in a development which has been documented in the farmhouses previously protected in this area. Architecturally the building is important because of its sober ornamentation and the special coherence between exterior and interior. The building has ensemble value because of its location in a valuable and intact agrarian hamlet. It is important because of its intactness and is as such rare.
