Inleiding
Het KOETSHUIS, nu garage, hoort bij de dokterswoning die in 1915 gebouwd is, in opdracht van Tj. Wassenaar, arts in St. Jacobiparochie. De architect, G.J. Veenstra, heeft het woonhuis en koetshuis tegelijk ontworpen in Overgangsstijl. Het koetshuis ligt in de zuidwest-hoek van het rechthoekige perceel en is naar het noorden gericht. Onlangs is de inrijdeur, die in de loop der tijd gemoderniseerd was, vernieuwd met het oorspronkelijk ontwerp als voorbeeld.
Omschrijving
Het koetshuis heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond, is één bouwlaag hoog en wordt door een zadeldak van rode Hollandse pannen gedekt. In de oostelijke zijgevels zitten twee houten deuren en twee vensters, in de westelijke zijgevels een vijftal kleine verticale vensters. In de achtergevel bevinden zich drie kleine vensters. De grote oorspronkelijke uitrijdeur is dichtgemetseld. Het INTERIEUR is, op de toevoeging van een houten zolder na, origineel. Links twee bakstenen bogen waar zich de deuren bevinden. De balken rusten op met florale motieven gedecoreerde houten verbindingen.

Het koetshuis horend bij de dokterswoning is van algemeen cultuurhistorisch en architectuurhistorisch belang:

Introduction
The COACH HOUSE, now garage, belongs to the doctor's house which was built in 1915, commissioned by Tj. Wassenaar, doctor in St. Jacobiparochie. The architect, G.J. Veenstra, designed both the dwelling house and coach house at the same time in Transitional style. The coach house is located in the south-west corner of the rectangular plot and faces north. Recently the carriage entrance door, which had been modernised over time, was renewed following the original design.
Description
The coach house has a rectangular ground plan, is one storey high and is covered by a gabled roof of red Dutch tiles. In the eastern side facades are two wooden doors and two windows, in the western side facades five small vertical windows. In the rear facade are three small windows.
