Omschrijving
Het FILTERGEBOUW is vanuit een rechthoekige plattegrond over twee bouwlagen opgetrokken in rode baksteen op een gemetseld trasraam. Het ver overstekende platte betonnen dak rust op consoles. De lange gevels (N en Z) worden op de verdieping geleed door acht zesruits vensters; op de begane grond smallere meerruits vensterstroken. In de korte gevels (O en W) vier zesruits vensters. De kozijnen van alle vensters zijn van staal. In alle gevels is een stalen rondboogdeur geplaatst.
De filterinstallatie in het gebouw is origineel en bestaat onder andere uit cascaden met spatvloeren en filterbakken.

Filtergebouw van algemeen architectuurhistorisch en stedebouwkundig belang:
- vanwege de oorspronkelijke functie en als uiting van de geschiedenis van de waterleiding in Almelo en omgeving
- als gaaf gebouw uit het oeuvre van H.P.N. Halbertsma
- vanwege het gave interieur

Description
The FILTER BUILDING is constructed from a rectangular ground plan over two storeys in red brick on a mortared concrete raft. The far-projecting flat concrete roof rests on consoles. The long facades (N and S) are articulated on the upper storey by eight six-light windows; on the ground floor narrower multilight window strips. In the short facades (E and W) four six-light windows. The frames of all windows are steel. In all facades a steel round-arch door has been placed.
The filter installation in the building is original and consists among other things of cascades with splash floors and filter tanks.
