Omschrijving
Het op de rooms-katholieke begraafplaats van Benschop gelegen GRAFMONUMENT is vervaardigd voor de bouwpastoor van de St. Victorkerk, A.A.J. van Rossum, geboren in Utrecht in 1843 en gestorven in 1916. Het noord-zuid geplaatste graf bestaat uit een natuurstenen basement met daarop een van tekst voorziene natuurstenen licht getoogde plaat. Aan de zuidzijde bevindt zich een staande gedeelte, dat op rotsachtige wijze is bewerkt en een berg met een kruis verbeeldt. Het kruis is voorzien van een gebeeldhouwde lauwerkrans en in een rondboogvormig vlak in het midden onder het kruis is reliëf van een marmeren kelk met hostie aangebracht.
Waardering
Het grafmonument is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarde als relict van de bouwgeschiedenis van de St. Victorkerk en als uiting van de funeraire geschiedenis.

Description
The GRAVE MONUMENT on the Roman Catholic cemetery of Benschop was constructed for the building parson of the St. Victor church, A.A.J. van Rossum, born in Utrecht in 1843 and died in 1916. The grave, positioned north-south, consists of a natural stone base with upon it a natural stone lightly vaulted slab inscribed with text. On the south side there is a standing section, which is worked in a rocky manner and depicts a mountain with a cross. The cross is provided with a sculptured laurel wreath and in a round arch-shaped plane in the middle below the cross a relief of a marble chalice with host is applied.
Valuation
The grave monument is of general importance because of its cultural and architectural-historical value as a relic of the building history of the St. Victor church and as an expression of funerary history.
