Omschrijving
Toegang tot het omgrachte voorplein van het huis, bestaande uit een dam met ijzeren paaltjes en kettingen en een bakstenen poortgebouw. Er is gebruik gemaakt van machinale baksteen, die in huis en bijgebouwen verder niet voorkomt. De korfboogvormige poort wordt geflankeerd door torens. De poort is afgesloten door kantelen en bekroond met vazen en een wapendragende leeuw. De torens zijn voorzien van 'schietgaten', ronde openingen, bloktand en kantelen en zijn aan de achterzijde toegankelijk via deuren. Het poortgebouw is waarschijnlijk in de tweede helft van de negentiende eeuw gebouwd.

Het poortgebouw van Strijdhoef, waarschijnlijk uit de tweede helft van de negentiende eeuw, is van algemeen belang vanwege:

Description
Entrance to the moated front courtyard of the house, consisting of a dam with iron bollards and chains and a brick gatehouse. Use has been made of machine-made brick, which does not appear further in the house and outbuildings. The segmental arched gateway is flanked by towers. The gateway is closed off by crenellations and crowned with vases and a coat-of-arms bearing lion. The towers are furnished with 'gun loops', round openings, tooth moulding and crenellations and are accessible from the rear via doors. The gatehouse was probably built in the second half of the nineteenth century.
Valuation
The gatehouse of Strijdhoef, probably from the second half of the nineteenth century, is of general importance because of:
- the building type gatehouse;
- the building style with crenellations, gun loops etc., which expresses the romantic ideas such as those were associated with castles in the nineteenth century;
- the ensemble values, especially the relationship with the house and its neogothic outbuildings;
- the rarity of such structures in this style;
- the condition of the building.
