Omschrijving
HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG behorende tot de buitenplaats De Ulenpas. Deels in structuur en deels in detail gaaf bewaarde, kleinschalige aanleg in landschapsstijl uit ca.1810 vermoedelijk naar ontwerp van de architect J.P. Posth (slingervijver en eiland met boomgroepen), die in 1883 gereoganiseerd is door tuinarchitect L.A. Springer (zichtlijnen en rondwandeling eiland). De oorspronkelijke rechthoekige gracht, die nog aangegeven staat op de Topografische Militaire Kaart van ca.1850, is deels gedempt en aan de voorzijde vergraven tot een waterpartij. Aan de noordzijde loopt een rechte laan met knik (thans bospad) daterend uit de formele aanleg. Ook de plaats van de moestuin en boomgaard ten zuidwesten van het huis is bepaald in deze periode. Vanaf de voorzijde van het huis een wijds zicht over het gazon met 19de-eeuwse solitaire kastanje over een tot vijver vergraven deel van de gracht naar de weilanden. Het beeld van de aanleg achter het huis wordt bepaald door de serpentinevijver met eiland waarover enkele zichtassen zijn geprojecteerd: één over de lengte van het eiland en één over de waterpartij met hangbrug. Het eiland is ingevuld met boomgroepen, voornamelijk exoten, waarlangs een rondgaand pad is aangelegd. Op het eiland liggen de fundamenten van een theehuisje. Links van het eiland (vanuit het huis) een doorzicht over het gazon met tuinvaas. Deze zichtas liep oorspronkelijk door naar het achter gelegen met bomen omzoomde weiland welke thans (1997) is dichtgeplant. Rechts vanaf het huis een rechte dwarsas oorspronkelijk gericht op een treurbeuk, welke thans enigszins is dichtgegroeid.

Description
HISTORIC GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT belonging to the country estate De Ulenpas. Partly in structure and partly in detail well-preserved, small-scale layout in landscape style from circa 1810 presumably designed by the architect J.P. Posth (meandering pond and island with tree groups), which was reorganised in 1883 by landscape architect L.A. Springer (sight lines and circular walk around island). The original rectangular moat, which is still indicated on the Topographic Military Map of circa 1850, is partly filled in and in front enlarged into a water feature. On the north side runs a straight avenue with a bend (now woodland path) dating from the formal layout. The location of the vegetable garden and orchard to the southwest of the house is also determined in this period. From the front of the house a wide view over the lawn with a 19th-century solitary chestnut over a part of the moat enlarged into a pond towards the meadows. The image of the layout behind the house is determined by the meandering pond with island over which several sight axes are projected: one along the length of the island and one over the water feature with a suspension bridge. The island is filled with tree groups, mainly exotic species, along which a circular path is laid out. On the island lie the foundations of a tea house. To the left of the island (from the house) a view through over the lawn with a garden vase. This sight axis originally ran through to the meadow behind lined with trees which is now (1997) densely planted. To the right from the house a straight transverse axis originally directed at a weeping beech, which is now somewhat overgrown.
