Omschrijving onderdeel 2:
HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG behorende tot de buitenplaats Ophemert. De huidige tuin- en parkaanleg in landschapsstijl van de buitenplaats dateert uit het midden van de 19de eeuw. Voor deze tijd was er sprake van een meer formele aanleg waarvan de uit lanen opgebouwde hoofdstructuur nog bestaat. De aanleg wordt thans gekenmerkt door een rechthoekige vorm waarin aan de westzijde de twee omgrachte eilanden, waarop het kasteel en het koetshuis zijn gelegen, liggen. Ten zuidoosten van het kasteel een wijds gazon waarin enkele solitairen staan en dat een dicht begroeide in- en uitzwenkende omzoming heeft. In dit deel van de tuin ligt in een wat opgehoogd stuk een zwembad waarbij een groen geschilderd houten prieel staat. Zowel zwembad en prieel zijn op zodanige wijze vormgegeven dat ze geen opvallende elementen binnen de aanleg zijn. Ten noordoosten van het kasteel ligt de moestuin met een kas en tuinmuur en een drietal broeibakken van betonplaten. De broeibakken zijn vanwege te geringe monumentale waarden voor de bescherming van ondergeschikt belang. Tussen de moestuin en de beide kasteeleilanden ligt een vermoedelijk vroeg 20ste-eeuwse tuin in een formele stijl, waarvan de structuur door hoge geschoren heggen wordt bepaald. Tussen de heggen, die rechte óf gebogen vormen hebben, zijn 'kamerachtige' ruimtes gecreëerd die met elkaar verbonden zijn. Het is niet bekend wie de aanleg heeft ontworpen. Tussen de aanleg in het noordwesten, een open weidegebied, ligt de oprijlaan die naar het voorplein voor de beide eilanden leidt. Tussen het open weide gebied en de oprijlaan staat thans een haag als afscheiding en er ligt een tennisbaan. De tennisbaan valt wegens te geringe monumentale waarden buiten de bescherming van rijkswege.

HISTORIC GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT belonging to the country estate Ophemert. The current garden and park layout in landscape style of the country estate dates from the mid-19th century. Before this time there was a more formal layout of which the main structure built up from avenues still exists. The layout is currently characterized by a rectangular form in which on the west side the two moated islands, on which the castle and the coach house are located, lie. To the southeast of the castle a wide lawn on which several solitary trees stand and which has a densely planted curving and bending border. In this part of the garden lies on a slightly raised section a swimming pool with a green painted wooden gazebo beside it. Both the swimming pool and gazebo are designed in such a way that they are not conspicuous elements within the layout. To the northeast of the castle lies the kitchen garden with a glasshouse and garden wall and three concrete-slab forcing frames. The forcing frames are of subordinate importance for protection due to insufficient heritage values. Between the kitchen garden and the two castle islands lies a presumed early 20th-century garden in a formal style, of which the structure is determined by tall clipped hedges. Between the hedges, which have straight or curved forms, 'room-like' spaces have been created which are connected to each other. It is not known who designed the layout. Between the layout in the northwest, an open meadow area, lies the approach road which leads to the forecourt in front of the two islands. Between the open meadow area and the approach road there is now a hedge as a boundary and there lies a tennis court. The tennis court falls outside national protection due to insufficient heritage values.
