Omschrijving onderdeel 3:
KOETSHUIS. Het op het voorplein van kasteel Ophemert staande koetshuis (met voormalige tuinmanswoning en bovenwoning) dateert ongeveer uit het midden van de 19de eeuw. Vermoedelijk zijn tijdens de bouw oudere onderdelen gebruikt (ondermeer een 17de- of 18de-eeuwse delen van een gebintconstructie), wellicht afkomstig van een ouder gebouw dat vermoedelijk op deze plaats heeft gestaan. Het symmetrisch opgezette koetshuis op rechthoekige plattegrond, is één bouwlaag hoog onder met gesmoorde hollandse pannen gedekte schilddaken; de risalerende middenpartij is twee bouwlagen hoog, voorzien van een topgevel en wordt overkapt door een eveneens met gesmoorde hollandse pannen gedekt zadeldak. Op het zadeldak, dat voorzien is van een overstek op houten klossen, een houten dakruiter met luidklok. Langs de dakschilden houten bakgoten en op de nokeinden van de zijvleugels gepleisterde schoorstenen. Op de dakschilden van de zijvleugels een aantal dakkapellen uit hout en zink. De gevels van het koetshuis zijn wit gepleisterd, de eerste bouwlaag van de middenrisaliet is voorzien van een blokbepleistering. In de middenrisaliet een inrijpooort met dubbele deuren voorzien van een brede pilastervormige naald, boven de waterlijst twee stolpramen (6-ruits) en een solpvenster met half ronde beëindiging (6-ruits) en een frans balkon. De voor- en achtergevel van de zijvleugels hebben een symmetrische indeling (ondermeer entrees, meerruits vensters -in de voorgevel voorzien van persiennes-, meerruits vensters met half ronde afsluitingen en blindnissen). De rechter zijgevel is blind met drie gekoppelde rondboognissen. In de linkerzijgevel een entree en enkele vensters. INTERIEUR- In het interieur zijn ondermeer de volgende elementen van belang; in de voormlaige tuinmanswoning (linker zijvleugel) delen van een 17de- of 18de-eeuwse gebintconstructie, de klinkerbestrating in de oude koetsruimte, paneeldeuren en kozijnen in de bovenwoning boven de koetsruimte. Tijdens een verbouwing in de jaren '90 van de 20ste eeuw zijn in de rechterzijvleugel in de voormalige jachtkamer oude interieuronderdelen aangebracht (ondermeer eens schouw, kasten en moerbalken) en werd de indeling van de linkerzijvleugel gewijzigd.

COACH HOUSE. The coach house (with former gardener's house and upper dwelling) standing on the forecourt of castle Ophemert dates from approximately the mid-19th century. Presumably during construction older components were used (among others a 17th- or 18th-century parts of a roof truss structure), possibly originating from an older building that presumably stood on this location. The symmetrically arranged coach house on rectangular ground plan is one storey high under hipped roofs covered with smothered Dutch tiles; the projecting central section is two storeys high, provided with a gabled top and is covered by a saddle roof likewise covered with smothered Dutch tiles. On the saddle roof, which is provided with an overhang on wooden corbels, a wooden roof turret with bell. Along the roof slopes wooden gutters and on the ridge ends of the side wings plastered chimneys. On the roof slopes of the side wings a number of roof dormers in wood and zinc. The facades of the coach house are white plastered, the first storey of the central risalit is provided with a block render. In the central risalit a carriage entrance with double doors provided with a wide pilaster-shaped post, above the drip moulding two fixed windows (6-pane) and a sun window with semi-circular ending (6-pane) and a French balcony. The front and rear facade of the side wings have a symmetrical arrangement (among others entrances, multi-pane windows - in the front facade provided with blinds, multi-pane windows with semi-circular closings and blind recesses). The right side facade is blind with three coupled semicircular recesses. In the left side facade an entrance and some windows. INTERIOR - In the interior the following elements are of importance; in the former gardener's house (left side wing) parts of a 17th- or 18th-century roof truss structure, the clinker paving in the old coach room, panelled doors and window frames in the upper dwelling above the coach room. During a renovation in the 1990s in the right side wing old interior components were installed in the former hunting room (among others a fireplace, cupboards and main beams) and the arrangement of the left side wing was modified.
