REGISTEROMSCHRIJVING
Inleiding

Description
REGISTER DESCRIPTION
Introduction
Originally a 17th-century TRANSVERSE-HOUSE FARM (type cruck house) with parts modified in later times such as the left part of the front facade and the rear building (between 1832 and 1850). In the rear building the 18th-century roof truss structure has been preserved. A remarkable component is the cellar which was originally vaulted by a herringbone vault. The cellar, equipped with striking wall thickness, in this part of the front building suggests a distinguished residential history. The farm is situated south-east of Wilnis on the Veldhuisweg which runs parallel to and north-east of the road which connects Wilnis and Portengen. The farm faces its front facade toward a drainage channel which separates both roads.
Description
The largely whitewashed transverse house is covered by a thatched hipped roof with ridge thatch. The positioning of the rear building parallel to the right side facade results in an L-shaped floor plan. The rear building has a hipped roof attached to the front building with a lower ridge height. The facades of the front building have a continuous tarred plinth.
In the central axis of the front facade is the door with fanlight. To the left of this, above two semi-circular closed cellar lights, a shuttered tilting window appears. This window is wedged between wall anchors positioned low in the facades and the roof edge. In the right half of the facade are two shuttered 2x(1+2)-pane sash windows. Above the wall anchors three small windows have been blocked. The left side facade is executed blind except for one window positioned high in the facade. The right side facade of the front building contains a shuttered 3x(2+2)-pane window. Above the wall anchors are two divided windows under the roof edge which also appear as blind windows in the front facade. The unplastered rear facade of the front building contains on the left, above the wall anchors positioned relatively low, high in the wall surface a 4x2-pane opening window. The masonry in the right corner is seriously damaged by wear. The left side facade of the rear building has three bays with a 3x2-pane stable window between wall buttresses. At the location of the middle building the roof surface is raised and the facade contains a small stable window and a window with fixed pane and a two-pane fanlight executed as an opening window. Of the right side facade of the rear building only the facade of the middle building remains standing in which a shuttered window is incorporated. The rear facade of the rear building is renewed and is of subordinate importance.
In the interior the original spatial arrangement is largely intact. The cellar, which was once vaulted with a herringbone vault of which only the springing remains preserved, is covered by wooden beams which are provided with a profile. In the upper room are two corbel supports and two child beams with keystone pieces. In the kitchen there is a built-in cabinet with a profiled door under a substantial executed cornice. Also notable are the three preserved bed alcoves and the candle niche in the cellar, as well as the 18th-century tie-beam roof truss structure in the rear building.
Valuation
Farm, of general importance because of the architectural-historical value as a 17th-century farm preserved in its main form with elements such as wooden cellar and ceiling beams, bed alcoves and 18th-century roof truss structure in the rear building. Of cultural-historical value because of the use which is connected with the development of the agricultural enterprise and the distinctive residential history of the polder Groot Wilnis-Vinkeveen.
