Omschrijving
CHINEES TUINHUISJE. Laat 19de-eeuws houten, witgeschilderd tuinhuisje afkomstig uit China, aan de binnenzijde beschilderd met chinoiserieën. Het op een plint staande tuinhuisje wordt overkapt door een royaal overstekend, rietgedekt tentdak. Op het dak staat een tweede kleinere kap die met een gesneden rand en een piron is gedecoreerd. Het huisje is voorzien van een entree en een 4-ruits venster. Het tuinhuisje werd omstreeks 1898 in opdracht van de toenmalige eigenaresse mevrouw Suermondt-Criellaert, wiens echtgenoot een stoomvaartlijn op China had, voor De Tempel aangeschaft.

Description
CHINESE GARDEN PAVILION. Late 19th-century wooden, white-painted garden pavilion originating from China, decorated on the interior with chinoiseries. The garden pavilion, standing on a plinth, is covered by a generously overhanging, thatched tent roof. On the roof stands a second smaller canopy decorated with a carved edge and a finial. The pavilion is provided with an entrance and a 4-pane window. The garden pavilion was acquired around 1898 at the behest of the then owner Mrs Suermondt-Criellaert, whose husband had a steamship line to China, for De Tempel.
