Inleiding
Nabij station Baarn werd in 1911 over het spoor tussen de taluds een betonnen voetgangersbrug gebouwd. De brug is vrijwel identiek aan de vier bruggen (één is gesloopt) uit 1906 over de spoorlijn Maastricht-Aken, tussen Valkenburg en Simpelveld. Deze bruggen werden gebouwd door de Hollandsche Maatschappij voor Gewapend Beton. Ze hebben een spanwijdte van 20 meter, die van Baarn meet 22,5 meter. De brug heeft een hooggelegen rijvloer. Hierbij ligt de vloer op de boog, terwijl de krachten bij de geboorten worden opgevangen via het talud. Het aluminium hekwerk is niet oorspronkelijk en valt buiten de bescherming.
Omschrijving
Een over de spoorlijn Baarn-Hilversum gelegen betonnen BRUG bestaande uit taludhoofden waartussen een boogbrug voor voetgangersverkeer is geplaatst met een hooggelegen rijvloer. Bij deze vroege bruggen in gewapend beton werd vanwege de aanwezige steile taluds de rijvloer niet als trekband gebruikt om de uitwijkkrachten op te vangen. De bogen bevinden zich daardoor niet boven, maar onder de rijvloer. Tussen de boogvelden zijn verticale betonnen staanders aangebracht. In de velden van de zwikken is de tekst `anno' en '1911' aangebracht.
Waardering
De brug is van cultuurhistorische waarde vanwege de ontwikkelingsgeschiedenis en tevens van ensemblewaarde in relatie tot het spoor. Het is voorts van architectuurhistorische waarde als zeldzaam en vroeg voorbeeld van een betonnen brug over het spoor.

Introduction
Near Baarn station a concrete footbridge was built in 1911 over the railway between the embankments. The bridge is virtually identical to four bridges (one has been demolished) from 1906 over the railway line Maastricht-Aachen, between Valkenburg and Simpelveld. These bridges were built by the Hollandsche Maatschappij voor Gewapend Beton. They have a span of 20 metres, that of Baarn measures 22.5 metres. The bridge has an elevated deck. The deck rests on the arch, whilst the forces at the supports are absorbed via the embankment. The aluminium railings are not original and fall outside the protection.
Description
A concrete BRIDGE spanning the Baarn-Hilversum railway line consisting of embankment abutments between which an arch bridge for pedestrian traffic is placed with an elevated deck. With these early reinforced concrete bridges the deck was not used as a tie-rod to absorb the outward thrusts due to the steep embankments present. The arches are therefore situated not above but below the deck. Between the arch bays vertical concrete posts have been installed. In the spandrel fields the text 'anno' and '1911' has been inscribed.
Evaluation
The bridge is of cultural-historical value because of its development history and furthermore of ensemble value in relation to the railway. It is moreover of architectural-historical value as a rare and early example of a concrete railway bridge.
