Omschrijving
Inleiding

Description
Introduction
FARMHOUSE of the cruk-house type, mainly dating from the first half of the 17th century (according to tradition from 1636) and principal component of the farmyard complex at the Reijerskoop.
NB the outbuilding section rebuilt after fire is of subordinate importance for protection.
Description
Farmhouse consisting of a front section of the cruk-house type behind which is a narrower outbuilding section that was rebuilt in 1960 after fire, but originally was of the voerdeeltype with anchor-beam timber frames, of which one frame still exists in front of the fire wall. The front section is covered with a gabled roof with a small half-hipped roof on the front, the gabled roof behind the rebuilt outbuilding has a lower roof ridge height and is laid with tiles. The front section has on the right a built-out volume originally with a cellar above which an upper room under an inset gabled roof, with an original roof overhang on the rear side. The thatched roofs of the front section are fitted with ceramic roof ridge ornaments. The front section is built of red brick in English bond and provided with a grey plastered plinth. In the facade there are rod wall anchors at the level of the upper floor and woven work in the masonry along the gable ends. The facade openings are finished with small ashlar courses from the nineteenth century, replacing the older relieving arches. In the front facade there are in the main volume on the left two nineteenth-century six-paned sash windows and on the right a door with fanlight in which a tree of life motif is incorporated. In the gable top is a window. In the right extension a nine-paned sash window at the level of the upper room. The right side facade of the cellar-upper room extension is executed as a pointed gable and has a nineteenth-century nine-paned sash window. In the facade there is to the right of centre a building trace indicating a relieving arch of a sealed 17th-century window. In the top also traces of two sealed openings and further a 19th-century four-paned loft window (attic window). In the facade of the front section to the right of the pointed gable are small windows. The left side facade of the front section, re-laid in the twentieth century, has on the left a new three-part window and a single window. In the rear facade of the front section a cellar window and a new door to the modernised kitchen. In the interior in the front section two characteristically detailed oak partition walls probably dating from the first half of the seventeenth century between sitting room, upper room and inner kitchen. These are among other things provided with two access doors and three niches. In these niches a dresser. Doors and niches have a hood characteristic of the building period, in flattened semi-circular form with teeth, comparable to the doors of the characteristic 17th-century Dutch hood or cupboard. The niche wall and one of the access doors are provided with fluted pilasters, as are both door frames. On top of these lies for the full length of the wall a main rail. The top of the door frame consists of a profiled moulding with below it the hood with spandrels, in which an openwork carved ornament. The front section further contains a wooden bed-cupboard wall from the first half of the 19th century. The original cellar has disappeared; a later cellar, dug around 1800, is still present on the rear side. In the upper room a timber skeleton with arched corbels and keystones, and in the front room a partly preserved beam construction with arched corbels. The roof truss structure is partly of oak timber, partly restored in pine or fir timber.}
Valuation
The farmhouse is of general importance because of its cultural-historical and architectural-historical value as a well-preserved example of a cruk-house farmhouse characteristic of the region, 17th-century in origin, with a very rare and well-preserved interior finishing in situ from the first half of the seventeenth century, consisting of several wooden decorative partition walls. Furthermore, the farmhouse is valuable because of the partly preserved seventeenth-century construction and the preserved architectural-historical details. The farmhouse has ensemble value because of the visual and historical-functional coherence with the other complex components and is defining the character of the location at the Reijerskoop.
