Inleiding
Spuisluis met ten westen daarvan de spuikom, gelegen in de in 1856 bedijkte Eerste Bathpolder. Tot de bedijking, naar aanleiding van de aanleg van de Rijn-Scheldeverbinding in 1967/76, grensde de sluis aan de Westerschelde.
Omschrijving
Het sluisje is opgetrokken uit geelbruine baksteen en voorzien van natuurstenen (afdek)platen.
Bovenop het sluisje een ijzeren windwerk. De waterdoorlaat is een gemetselde boog, voorzien van een houten sluisdeurtje.
De oorspronkelijk min of meer ronde spuikom is gedeeltelijk verland. De omdijking is aanwezig en goed herkenbaar.
Waardering
Sluis en spuikom van algemeen belang vanwege cultuurhistorische waarde als karakteristiek waterstaatkundig element en van waarde vanwege gaafheid.

Spuice sluice with spuice basin to the west of it, located in the Eerste Bathpolder embanked in 1856. Until the embanking, following the construction of the Rhine-Scheldt link in 1967/76, the sluice bordered on the Westerschelde.
Description
The sluice is constructed from yellowish-brown brickwork and fitted with natural stone (coping) plates.
On top of the sluice an iron winch. The water passage is a masonry arch, fitted with a wooden sluice gate.
The originally more or less round spuice basin is partially silted up. The embankment is present and clearly recognisable.
Valuation
Sluice and spuice basin of general importance because of cultural-historical value as a characteristic hydraulic engineering element and of value because of integrity.
