VILLA in eclectische bouwtrant uit het derde kwart van de 19de eeuw, ten opzichte van de weg teruggelegen in een parkachtige omgeving met terzijde een oprit. Het pand is genaamd "Huize Doornstaete", ligt aan de noordzijde van de Bosstraat en werd oorspronkelijk gebouwd als notariswoning.
Omschrijving
Het vrijstaande blokvormige pand is opgetrokken in baksteen op een rechthoekig grondplan, met de lengte-as evenwijdig aan de Bosstraat. Het pand is deels onderkelderd en bestaat voorts uit twee bouwlagen onder een schilddak met noklijn evenwijdig aan de straat. Het dak is bedekt met zwart geglazuurde pannen; in het midden van het voordakschild bevindt zich een grote dakkapel met segmentvormig fronton. De gevels van het pand worden op de hoeken begrensd door gestucte lisenen: op de begane grond geblokte lisenen, op de eerste verdieping lisenen met spaarvelden en medaillon. De horizontale geleding van de gevels wordt gevormd door: een gecementeerde, wit geschilderde plint, een geprofileerde lijst van stucwerk onder de vensters van de verdieping (behalve aan de achterzijde) die over de hoek lisenen heenloopt en een rondomlopende, boven de hoek lisenen gekorniste, houten gootlijst met daaronder een in stuc uitgevoerd fries. Aan de zijgevels is het fries voorzien van consoles, aan de voorgevel van ruitvormige patronen; op de middenas worden de ruitpatronen doorbroken door een verguld kopje met loofwerk.
De symmetrisch ingedeelde voorgevel (Z) is drie traveeën breed. In de middelste travee bevindt zich de hoofdingang, bestaande uit een dubbele paneeldeur met glaspanelen en een bovenlicht. De ingang heeft een trap met vier treden. Boven deze voordeur bevindt zich op de verdieping een houten balkon, geplaatst op gietijzeren kolonetten met corintische kapitelen. Links en rechts van de hoofdingang bevindt zich een houten T-venster, omlijst door gekoppelde gecanneleerde pilasters met corintische kapitelen in stucwerk. De vensters worden bekroond door een hoofdgestel, waarvan de kroonlijst in het midden wordt doorbroken door een halfcirkelvormig fronton met een rozet in het spaarveld.
Op de verdieping bevindt zich een houten T-venster ter weerszijden van de openslaande balkondeuren. Vensters en balkondeuren hebben gestucte omlijstingen en een geprofileerde kroonlijst.
De zijgevels, die drie traveeën breed zijn, bevatten zowel boven als beneden getoogde houten T-vensters met omlijstingen in stucwerk.
De achtergevel (N), voorzien van een uitbouw van één bouwlaag onder plat dak met houten balustrade, is veel soberder uitgevoerd en heeft een onregelmatige deur- en vensterindeling.
Het interieur is op de begane grond grotendeels in tact.

VILLA in eclectic building style from the third quarter of the 19th century, set back from the road in a park-like setting with a drive to the side. The building is named "Huize Doornstaete", is located on the north side of the Bosstraat and was originally built as a notary's residence.
Description
The detached, block-shaped building is constructed in brickwork on a rectangular ground plan, with the long axis parallel to the Bosstraat. The building is partly basement-level and consists of two storeys under a hipped roof with ridge line parallel to the street. The roof is covered with black glazed tiles; in the middle of the front roof slope there is a large dormer window with a segmented pediment. The gables of the building are bordered at the corners by rendered pilasters: on the ground floor blocked pilasters, on the first floor pilasters with spandrels and medallions. The horizontal articulation of the gables is formed by: a cemented, white-painted plinth, a moulded list of stucco work under the windows of the storey (except on the rear side) which runs over the corner pilasters and a continuous, above the corner pilasters corniced, wooden gutter line with beneath it a frieze executed in stucco. On the side gables the frieze is provided with consoles, on the front gable with diamond-shaped patterns; on the central axis the diamond patterns are interrupted by a gilded ornament with foliage.
The symmetrically arranged front gable (S) is three bays wide. In the middle bay is the main entrance, consisting of a double panelled door with glass panes and a fanlight. The entrance has a staircase with four steps. Above this front door is a wooden balcony on the storey, placed on cast-iron colonettes with Corinthian capitals. To the left and right of the main entrance is a wooden T-window, framed by coupled fluted pilasters with Corinthian capitals in stucco work. The windows are crowned by a main cornice, the cornice line of which is interrupted in the middle by a semicircular pediment with a rosette in the spandrel.
On the storey is a wooden T-window either side of the French doors opening onto the balcony. Windows and French doors have stucco surrounds and a moulded cornice line.
The side gables, which are three bays wide, contain both above and below arched wooden T-windows with stucco surrounds.
The rear gable (N), provided with an extension of one storey under flat roof with wooden balustrade, is executed much more simply and has an irregular door and window arrangement.
The interior is largely intact on the ground floor.
