Inleiding
De theekoepel op de Darthuizerberg is oorspronkelijk onderdeel geweest van het inmiddels verdwenen landgoed Darthuizerberg.
Het landgoed werd eind vorige eeuw gesticht door Daniël Francois Scheurleer, bankier van de familiebank Scheurleer en Zoonen, die in 1932 failliet ging.
De theekoepel is volgens zeggen in 1904 overgeplaatst uit de Vechtstreek of uit Den Haag. De oorspronkelijke bouwperiode van de koepel is niet bekend. De architectonische detaillering van de panelen vertonen Lodewijk XVI-invloeden, terwijl het snijwerk in de bovendorpels meer Lodewijk XIV-invloeden vertonen. Of hier sprake is van hergebruikte of in 1904 nieuw vervaardigde panelen is vooralsnog niet evident.
Het dak van de koepel is niet origineel. Het huidige tentdak vervangt een koepeldak dat met loden leien gedekt was.
Omschrijving
Een zich in het bos bevindende THEEKOEPEL op vierkante plattegrond met afgeschuinde hoeken van één bouwlaag onder een met bitumen gedekt tentdak met een bekroning in de vorm van een natuurstenen.
De gevels zijn in schoon metselwerk opgetrokken en zijn voorzien van een hardstenen plint. Een omgaande houten geprofileerde kroonlijst sluit de gevels af. Elke lange gevelzijde is voorzien van een roedenschuifvenster (zeven bij vijf) dat aan de bovenzijde licht getoogd is en door een natuurstenen, geprofileerde lijst wordt bekroond. De bovendorpels van de vensters zijn met krulwerk versierd. De korte afgeschuinde gevelzijden zijn blind.
De ingang bevindt zich in de noordgevel en bestaat uit een combinatie van een roedenschuifvenster die met twee sloten dichtgezet kan worden, waaronder ter hoogte van de plint een lage dubbele paneeldeur is gezet. Het interieur verkeert nagenoeg in oorspronkelijke staat. De wanden zijn voorzien van houten betimmering van panelen en zijn onder het plafond voorzien van een omgaande kroonlijst waarin een tandlijst is verwerkt. De panelen in de korte gevelzijden zijn voorzien van opliggend houtsnijwerk en rusten op een uitkragende eierlijst, waaronder vier gelijke kleine panelen met bladmotieven zijn gezet. Aan weerszijden van deze panelen bevindt zich een korte gecanneleerde pilaster. De vier grote panelen zijn wat de compositie betreft identiek. Aan een strik hangt een lint met in de top een medaillon waarin een afbeelding en daaronder diverse attributen die vermoedelijk verwijzen naar de landbouw, de visserij, de jacht en de oogst. De voorstellingen zijn omlijst. Aan de bovenzijde is een cartouche om de lijst heen gedrapeerd.
Waardering
De theekoepel Dartheide is van cultuurhistorische waarde vanwege de ontstaansgeschiedenis alsmede van hoge architectuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van een bouwtype en vanwege de gave Lodewijk XVI-panelen in het interieur.

The tea house on the Darthuizerberg was originally part of the now-disappeared estate Darthuizerberg.
The estate was founded at the end of the last century by Daniël Francois Scheurleer, banker of the family bank Scheurleer and Zoonen, which went bankrupt in 1932.

Description
A TEA HOUSE located in the wood on a square ground plan with bevelled corners of one storey under a tent roof covered with bitumen and a finial in the form of natural stone.
The façades are constructed in fair-faced brickwork and are provided with a hard stone plinth. A surrounding wooden moulded cornice closes off the façades. Each long façade side is provided with a glazing-bar sash window (seven by five) which is lightly arched at the top and is crowned by a natural stone, moulded cornice. The overdoors of the windows are decorated with scrollwork. The short bevelled façade sides are blank.
The entrance is located in the north façade and consists of a combination of a glazing-bar sash window which can be closed with two locks, below which at the level of the plinth a low double panel door is set. The interior is in virtually original condition. The walls are provided with wooden panelling and are provided under the ceiling with a surrounding cornice in which a dentil moulding is incorporated. The panels in the short façade sides are provided with applied woodcarving and rest on a projecting egg moulding, below which four identical small panels with leaf motifs are set. On either side of these panels is a short fluted pilaster. The four large panels are identical in composition. A ribbon hangs from a bow with a medallion in the apex in which is an image and below it various attributes which presumably refer to agriculture, fishing, hunting and harvest. The representations are framed. At the top a cartouche is draped around the frame.
Valuation
The tea house Dartheide is of cultural-historical value because of its history of origin as well as of high architectural-historical value as an example of a building type and because of the well-preserved Louis XVI panels in the interior.
