Inleiding
Grotendeels houten VISAFSLAG in sobere zakelijk-expressionistische trant met gebruik van streekeigen elementen, gebouwd in 1934 in opdracht van de Coöperatieve Afslagvereeniging G.A. 'St. Vincentius' te Volendam en beeldbepalend gesitueerd op de onderaan de dijk gelegen kade in de bocht aan de Haven van Volendam.
Omschrijving
Visafslag, gebouwd op rechthoekige plattegrond, bestaande uit een bouwlaag en een zolderverdieping. De gevels zijn opgetrokken in horizontale en vertikale (topgevels) houten rabatdelen op gladde plint onder zadeldaken gedekt met verbeterde Hollandse pannen. Het geheel is geplaatst op een gecementeerde betonnen onderbouw, bestaande uit draagconstructie op veertien palen. In de vloer bevindt zich een luik. De visafslag is noord-zuid georiënteerd met de noklijn evenwijdig aan de weg, het kantoorgedeelte met nevenruimten is oost-west georiënteerd met de noklijn haaks op de weg. De draairamen op de eerste bouwlaag hebben vier-ruitsbovenlichten, de draairamen op de zolderverdieping hebben een roedenverdeling.
De visafslag is aan de zijde van de Haven (W) bereikbaar via twee trappen die leiden naar twee dubbele houten deuren van vertikale delen. Tussen deze deuren is op de gevel de naam van de opdrachtgever en het bouwjaar geschilderd: 'Coop. Visafslag St. Vincentius/Anno 1934'. Op het dak is een ontluchtingstoren geplaatst met horizontale lamellen onder puntdak met pinakel. Het kantoorgedeelte (z) is bereikbaar via een trap die leidt naar de toegangsdeur van vertikale delen onder bovenlicht met rechts daarvan een driedelig venster. In de topgevel is een dubbel venster geplaatst met acht-ruitsramen. De vlaggenstok is aan de topgevel bevestigd.
De linker zijgevel (N) bevat een dubbel venster, geflankeerd door vierkante vier-ruitsvensters, in de topgevel een enkel vijf-ruitsvenster boven klok.
De rechter zijgevel (Z) bevat een driedelig venster en in de topgevel in het midden een venster met zes-ruitsraam.
De gevel aan de waterzijde (O) bevat links een driedelig venster, geflankeerd door vierkante vier-ruitsvensters, in de topgevel een dubbel venster met zes-ruitsramen. De visafslag wordt verlicht door vier dubbele vensters.

Fish auction hall, built on a rectangular floor plan, consisting of one storey and an attic floor. The facades are constructed in horizontal and vertical (gable ends) wooden rebated sections on smooth plinth under gabled roofs covered with improved Dutch tiles. The whole is placed on a cemented concrete substructure, consisting of load-bearing construction on fourteen piles. In the floor there is a hatch. The fish auction hall is oriented north-south with the ridge line parallel to the road, the office section with ancillary rooms is oriented east-west with the ridge line perpendicular to the road. The casement windows on the first storey have four-pane fanlights, the casement windows on the attic floor have glazing bars.
The fish auction hall is accessible from the harbour side (W) via two staircases leading to two double wooden doors of vertical sections. Between these doors, the name of the client and the building year are painted on the facade: 'Coop. Visafslag St. Vincentius/Anno 1934'. On the roof is an extraction tower placed with horizontal louvres under a pitched roof with pinnacle. The office section (S) is accessible via a staircase leading to the entrance door of vertical sections under a fanlight with a three-part window to the right of it. In the gable end is a double window placed with eight-pane windows. The flagpole is attached to the gable end.
The left side facade (N) contains a double window, flanked by square four-pane windows, in the gable end a single five-pane window above a clock.
