Inleiding
De (voormalige) marechausséekazerne is gebouwd in 1908/10. Het verzoek van het bestuur van de coöp. aardappelmeelfabriek "Wildervank e.o." te Eexterveenschekanaal om tijdelijk een brigade marechaussée te stationeren dateert van 1905.
Thans ingericht als drievoudige woning. De bescherming betreft het hoofdvolume en de detaillering van het exterieur.
Beeldbepalende gelegen aan het Eexterveenschekanaal.
Omschrijving
Kazerne opgetrokken in baksteen vanaf een rechthoekige plattegrond over één bouwlaag onder een met bouletpannen gedekt afgeknot schilddak met steekkappen.
De voorgevel is nagenoeg symmetrisch, de rechter risaliet steekt meer naar voren dan de linker. In de middenrisaltie de gewijzigde entree onder een rondboog met natuurstenen sluitsteen. Hoek- en middenrisalieten worden beëindigd met een dakkapel onder een afgewolfde steekkap, in de toppen schuifvensters. Aan weerszijden van de middenrisaliet en in de hoekrisalieten een rechtgesloten tweelicht venster, met zesruits bovenlicht, onder een segmentboogvormige strek. Tussen de tweelicht vensters een T-venster met achtruitsbovenlicht, eveneens onder een segmentboogvormige strek.

Description
Barracks erected in brick from a rectangular ground plan over one storey under a mansard roof covered with bullet tiles and steeple caps.
The front facade is nearly symmetrical, the right risalit projects further forward than the left. In the central risalit the modified entrance under a round arch with dressed stone voussoir. Corner and central risalits are terminated with a roof dormer under a curved steeple cap, with sash windows in the tops. On either side of the central risalit and in the corner risalits a straight-headed two-light window, with six-pane fanlight, under a segmental arch. Between the two-light windows a T-window with back-pane fanlight, equally under a segmental arch.
