Omschrijving
Inleiding
Notabelenwoning uit 1897 gebouwd in eclectische trant. De woning is karakteristiek voor de verdichting rond de eeuwwisseling van het oorspronkelijk meer agrarische nederzettingspatroon.
De woning staat vrij in een bescheiden tuinaanleg met een gietijzeren tuinhek aan de straatzijde.
Maatvoering en detaillering van de kozijnen en het hoofdgestel van de dakkapel wijken af van de overige kozijnen. Het motief van de dakkapel is eveneens gebruikt bij De Millystraat 10, aan de overzijde.
Omschrijving
Woning opgetrokken in baksteen over één bouwlaag onder een met geglazuurde platte friese pannen gedekt afgeknot schilddak.
Het pand heeft een gepleisterde plint met een profiellijst en een rondomlopend hoofdgestel met gootklossen als triglieven in het fries. Alle gevelopeningen zijn segmentboogvormig en hebben een omgetrokken profiellijst met kuif, rustend op consoles met gutae en met een eierlijstmotief..
Centraal in de symmetrische voorgevel een portiek met een hardstenen stoep. In de portiek twee blindnissen en de entree; een dubbele paneeldeur met bovenlicht en moderne sierroosters. Boven de portiek gaat de gevel hoger op in een dakkapel met een balkon op consoles en met smeedijzeren hekwerk. In de dakkapel een drielicht vensterpartij met fastigium motief. Aan weerszijden van de middenpartij twee schuifvensters met een rijkgeprofileerde dagkant. In de dakschilden twee dakkapellen onder platdak met een venster met segmentboog bovenlicht.
In de rechterzijgevel drie schuifvensters, de rechter twee dichter bij elkaar. In het dakschild twee veluxvensters.
In de linkerzijgevel één schuifvenster en een deur.

Notable residence built in 1897 in eclectic style. The residence is characteristic of the densification around the turn of the century of the originally more rural settlement pattern.
The residence stands detached in a modest garden layout with a cast-iron garden gate on the street side.
The proportions and detailing of the frames and the main cornice of the roof dormer differ from the other frames. The motif of the roof dormer has also been used at De Millystraat 10, on the opposite side.
Description
Residence constructed in brick over one storey under a truncated hipped roof covered with glazed flat Frisian tiles.
The building has a rendered plinth with a profile moulding and a running main cornice with gutter blocks as triglyphs in the frieze. All facade openings are segmental arch-shaped and have a surrounded profile moulding with cyma, resting on consoles with guttae and with an egg-and-dart motif.
Centrally in the symmetrical front facade a portico with a limestone step. In the portico two blind niches and the entrance; a double panel door with fanlight and modern ornamental grilles. Above the portico the facade rises higher in a roof dormer with a balcony on consoles and with wrought-iron railing. In the roof dormer a three-light window arrangement with fastigium motif. On either side of the centre section two sash windows with a richly profiled window opening. In the roof panels two roof dormers under flat roof with a window with segmental arch fanlight.
In the right side facade three sash windows, the right two positioned closer together. In the roof panel two Velux windows.
In the left side facade one sash window and a door.
