Inleiding
Dokterswoning gebouwd ca. 1910 met Art Nouveau invloed. Vrijstaand in royale tuinaanleg binnen herkwerk.
De dokterswoning is een karakteristiek voorbeeld van de villa-achtige bebouwing die rond de eeuwwisseling gerealiseerd werd tegen de dorpskern aan, temidden van de oorspronkelijke agrarische bebouwing. De praktijk voorzag in de veranderende behoeften die deze verstedelijking met zich meebracht.
In 1937 is de woning uitgebreid naar ontwerp van H. Heertens Gzn., de gemeentearchitect. De uitbreiding op de noordwesthoek heeft een bouwlaag onder een zadeldak. Dit bouwdeel is door een gemoderniseerd tussenlid met platdak verbonden aan de woning. In de jaren dertig fungeerde de woning als rusthuis. Ook de serre is in deze periode vergroot.
De bescherming betreft het bouwdeel uit 1910.
Omschrijving
Villa opgetrokken over twee bouwlagen in baksteen, op de verdieping gepleisterd, onder een deels assymetrische T-vormig zadeldak gedekt met bouletpannen. Alle topgevels met klimmend keperfries en tuitstuk. Rondom lopende afzaat van geglazuurde stenen. Gevelopeningen op de begane grond met segmentboogvormige strek, boven de strek begint de pleistering van de verdieping, waardoor de boogvorm extra geaccentueerd is.
In de oksel van de zuidgevel een uitbouw met een balustrade voor de loggia op de verdieping. Onderin een glasdeur met gekoppeld venster onder een gemeenschappelijk drielicht met bakstenen deelzuilen en een natuurstenen kalf en latei. Bakstenen balustrade bij de loggia. Links, in de assymetrische kopgevel van het lange bouwdeel, een drielicht venster met segmentboog, het middenvenster met achtruits, de zijvensters met vierruits bovenlicht. Op de verdieping een schuifvenster met achtruits bovenlicht met een natuurstenen latei en een gemetselde ontlastingsboog die uitgespaard is in het pleisterwerk. Rechts een klein venster met eenzelfde beëindiging. Links van de entree op beide verdiepingen een schuifvenster met achtruits bovenlicht, op de begane grond met segmentboog.
In de linkerzijgevel (W) aan de rechterzijde eenzelfde vensteras als in de voorgevel geheel links. In de geveltop een klein venster met latei en uitgespaarde ontlastingsboog. Links de moderen entree naar de praktijkruimten.
Aan de rechter zijgevel (O) de vergrote serre onder platdak met kroonlijst. Op de zuidoosthoek een om de hoek gezette reeks van vijf vensters met zesruitsbovenlicht (twee in de oostwand oorspronkelijk deuren). Rechts een drielicht venster als in de voorgevel, echter rechtgesloten. Op de verdieping twee vensters.

The doctor's residence is a characteristic example of villa-like development that was realised around the turn of the century against the village core, amongst the original agricultural buildings. The practice provided for the changing needs that this urbanisation brought with it.
In 1937 the residence was extended to the design of H. Heertens Gzn., the municipal architect. The extension on the north-west corner has a storey under a gabled roof. This building component is connected to the residence by a modernised intermediate section with flat roof. In the nineteen-thirties the residence functioned as a rest home. The conservatory was also enlarged in this period.
The protection concerns the building component from 1910.
Description
Villa constructed over two storeys in brick, on the upper floor rendered, under a partly asymmetrical T-shaped gabled roof covered with barrel tiles. All gable ends with climbing herringbone fretwork and spout gable. Running drip moulding all around of glazed stone. Window openings on the ground floor with segmental arch form, above the arch the rendering of the upper floor begins, whereby the arch form is extra accentuated.
In the angle of the south facade an extension with a balustrade for the loggia on the upper floor. Below a glass door with coupled window under a shared three-light with brick pilasters and a natural stone sill and lintel. Brick balustrade at the loggia. Left, in the asymmetrical gable end of the long building component, a three-light window with segmental arch, the centre window with vertical bars, the side windows with four-pane fanlight. On the upper floor a sash window with vertical-bar fanlight with a natural stone lintel and a masonry relieving arch that is recessed in the render. Right a small window with the same termination. Left of the entrance on both floors a sash window with vertical-bar fanlight, on the ground floor with segmental arch.
In the left side facade (W) on the right side the same window arrangement as in the front facade far left. In the gable end a small window with lintel and recessed relieving arch. Left the modern entrance to the practice rooms.
On the right side facade (E) the enlarged conservatory under flat roof with cornice. On the south-east corner a sequence of five windows wrapped around the corner with six-pane fanlight (two in the east wall originally doors). Right a three-light window as in the front facade, but right-closed. On the upper floor two windows.
