Omschrijving
HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG behorende tot de buitenplaats Walenburg. De aanleg van de buitenplaats wordt bepaald door de rechthoekige grachtenstructuur van de omgrachte burcht en voorburcht. Verder verdeelt een slotenstelsel het terrein in rechthoekige percelen, die loodrecht op de Langbroekerwetering staan. De buitenplaats wordt aan de noordwestzijde ontsloten door een rechte oprijlaan komend vanaf de Langbroekerdijk, waar deze gemarkeerd wordt door twee natuurstenen pijlers met de naam 'WALEN' 'BURG'. De met eikenbomen beplante laan loopt door tot aan een weiland en fungeert tevens als zichtlaan. Ten westen van het huis maakt de laan een scherpe hoek en loopt achter het huis door met links de (voor)burcht en rechts enkele hakhoutpercelen. Op het terrein terzijde van Walenburg ligt een klein parkbosje (eiken). Binnen het formele kader is door mevrouw Canneman in 1965 een nieuwe tuin aangelegd, die een grote voorbeeldfunctie voor de volgende generatie tuinarchitecten heeft vervuld. Deze aanleg is door zijn geringe ouderdom (jonger dan vijftig jaar) thans nog voor de bescherming van ondergeschikte betekenis.

Description
HISTORICAL GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT belonging to the country estate Walenburg. The layout of the country estate is determined by the rectangular moat structure of the embanked castle and outer ward. Furthermore, a system of ditches divides the land into rectangular plots, which stand perpendicular to the Langbroekerwetering. The country estate is accessed from the northwest by a straight driveway coming from the Langbroekerdijk, where it is marked by two natural stone pillars with the name 'WALEN' 'BURG'. The avenue planted with oaks runs through to a meadow and also serves as a vista line. West of the house the avenue makes a sharp angle and runs behind the house with the (outer) ward on the left and several coppice plots on the right. On the land to the side of Walenburg lies a small park wood (oaks). Within the formal framework, in 1965 Mevrouw Canneman created a new garden, which has served an important exemplary function for the following generation of landscape architects. Due to its recent age (younger than fifty years), this layout is currently of subordinate significance for protection.
