Omschrijving
HOOFDGEBOUW (Walenburg). Op een omgracht terrein ligt een middeleeuwse woontoren bestaande uit een onderbouw, drie bouwlagen en een zolder onder een met pannen gedekt schilddak bekroond door twee koperen windvanen. Op het dak een dakkapel met vlieggaten. Oorspronkelijk was de toren 6.50 meter hoog voorzien van een weergang met kantelen, waarvan in het metselwerk nog sporen zichtbaar zijn. In de toren bevinden zich kloostervensters en kleine vensters met roedenverdeling voorzien van luiken. Aan de noordzijde is een uitgebouwde latrine, die oorsponkelijk van hout was. In het INTERIEUR zijn ondermeer van belang de houten plafonds in het vertrek op de begane grond en op de tweede verdieping, en het gemetseld kruisgewelf op de eerste verdieping.
Met gebruikmaking van ouder muurwerk is in 1965 door de architect E.A. Canneman de woonvleugel gereconstrueerd naar de 19de-eeuwse hoofdvorm. Deze op rechthoekige grondslag opgetrokken aanbouw bestaat uit van één bouwlaag onder een met Oud-Hollandse pannen gedekt zadeldak.

Description
MAIN BUILDING (Walenburg). On an embanked plot lies a medieval residential tower consisting of a base structure, three storeys and an attic under a hipped roof covered with tiles and crowned by two copper weathervanes. On the roof a roof dormer with flight holes. Originally the tower was 6.50 metres high provided with a fighting platform with crenellations, of which traces are still visible in the masonry. In the tower there are monastery windows and small windows with glazing bars furnished with shutters. On the north side is an outbuilding latrine, which was originally of wood. In the INTERIOR are among other things important: the wooden ceilings in the room on the ground floor and on the second storey, and the masoned cross vault on the first storey.
Using older masonry, in 1965 the architect E.A. Canneman reconstructed the residential wing according to the 19th-century main form. This outbuilding built on a rectangular foundation consists of one storey under a saddle roof covered with Old Dutch tiles.
