Omschrijving
BEGRAAFPLAATS uit 1867 bestaande uit een grotendeels omgracht rechthoekig terrein met rondom een dichte beplanting van loofbomen. Op terrein dat begroeid is met gras, staat een vijfenveertigtal grafmonumenten. De grafmonumenten zijn natuurstenen stèles met veelal een ronde of trapeziumvormige beëindiging; de letters en voorstellingen zijn in de steen uitgehakt en vervolgens zwart opgeschilderd; een aantal stèles heeft bovenin een levensboom afgebeeld.
Waardering
Joodse begraafplaats van algemeen cultuurhistorisch belang:
-als voorbeeld van een kleine Joodse begraafplaats uit de tweede helft van de negentiende eeuw met kenmerkende graftekens in de provincie Groningen

Description
BURIAL GROUND from 1867 consisting of a largely moated rectangular area with dense planting of deciduous trees all around. On ground covered with grass stand approximately forty-five grave monuments. The grave monuments are natural stone stelae mostly with a rounded or trapezoidal top; the letters and representations are cut into the stone and subsequently painted black; a number of stelae have a tree of life depicted at the top.
Valuation
Jewish burial ground of general cultural-historical significance:
-as an example of a small Jewish burial ground from the second half of the nineteenth century with characteristic gravestones in the province of Groningen
-as a relic of the Jewish community of Winsum
-because of the high degree of integrity
