Inleiding
GEVEL MET WINKELPUI naar ontwerp van G.D. Gantvoort uit 1895.
Gevel en pui zijn rijk gedetailleerd in eclectische stijl.
De boogtrommel van het middenraam op de tweede verdieping is de gevelsteen.
Eind 19de eeuwse gevels, waarvan de authentieke winkelpuien niet gewijzigd zijn, zijn zeldzaam in Nederland.
Het deel direct achter de gevel is uitgebrand en in de jaren '90 van de twintigste eeuw herbouwd.
Omschrijving
Gevel van bak- en zandsteen met houten winkelpui op hardstenen plint.
De winkelpui bestaat uit twee hoekpilasters op een stenen plint die een kroonlijst dragen; centraal daarbinnen, de plint doorbrekend, een toegangsdeur met bovenlicht tussen deelstijlen. De pilasters hebben symmetrische heraldische ornamenten in de schacht. De kroonlijst heeft cassettes in de fries, met boven de entree een cartouche tussen consoles. In de deelstijlen een tweedeling ter hoogte van de bovendorpel van de deur. In beide delen een rijkbewerkte houten zuil, de onderste met acanthusbladen in de schacht en een composietkapiteel, de bovenste dubbel getorst met een bol ertussen. Op de bovendorpel van de deur een lijst tussen consoles met een driehoekig fronton. De toegang bestaat uit een dubbele deels glazen paneeldeur met bossingen.
De gemetselde gevel met speklagen boven de winkelpui telt drie vensterassen. Op deze assen op beide verdiepingen een T-venster, horizontaal van elkaar gescheiden door een terugliggende stenen lijst. Het middenraam op de tweede verdieping heeft een segmentboogvormige boogtrommel met daarin twee leeuwen die een gekroonde krakeling dragen en een banderol. Over twee verdiepingen lopen hoekpilasters eindigend in leeuwenkoppen. De tweede verdieping heeft bovendien twee middenpilasters op consoles die, de kroonlijst doorbrekend, de halfzuilen met Ionische kapitelen van de dakkapel dragen. Op de laatste een tuitstuk, bestaande uit zuilen met een halfrond fronton. De dakkapel heeft stenen klauwstukken met voluten.

Description
Facade of brick and sandstone with wooden shop front on hardstone plinth.
The shop front consists of two corner pilasters on a stone plinth which support a cornice; centrally within, breaking through the plinth, an entrance door with fanlight between mullions. The pilasters have symmetrical heraldic ornaments in the shaft. The cornice has cassettes in the frieze, with above the entrance a cartouche between consoles. In the mullions a division at the level of the transom of the door. In both parts a richly worked wooden column, the lower one with acanthus leaves in the shaft and a composite capital, the upper one double-twisted with a sphere between. On the transom of the door a moulding between consoles with a triangular pediment. The entrance consists of a double partly glazed panel door with bossings.
The moulded facade with brickwork courses above the shop front has three window bays. On these bays on both storeys a T-window, horizontally separated from each other by a recessed stone moulding. The middle window on the second storey has a segment arch-shaped arch drum with within two lions carrying a crowned pretzel and a banderol. Over two storeys run corner pilasters ending in lion's heads. The second storey furthermore has two central pilasters on consoles which, breaking through the cornice, support the half-columns with Ionic capitals of the roof dormer. On the latter a spout piece, consisting of columns with a semicircular pediment. The roof dormer has stone claw pieces with volutes.
