Inleiding
GEVEL MET WINKELPUI, genaamd "de Vlijt", uit 1856.
De pui is rijk gedetailleerd in eclectische stijl. Dergelijke 19de eeuwse gevels, waarvan de authentieke winkelpui niet gewijzigd is, zijn zeldzaam in Nederland.
Omschrijving
Gepleisterde gevel met houten winkelpui op hardstenen sokkel.
De winkelpui heeft een klassieke ordening. De houten hoekpilasters staan op een natuurstenen plint met diamantkoppen en bossingen. De pilasters dragen een royaal bemeten driedelig hoofdgestel. In het fries per vak drie glas-in-lood vensters. Onder de twee linker vakken een groot eenruits winkelvenster, onder het rechter vak een glasdeur met bovenlicht. Tussen venster en deur een rijkbewerkte houten deelstijl, met aan de voet een leeuw die een schild draagt met "de Vlijt 1856".
In de gepleisterde gevel boven de winkelpui zijn met schijnvoegen hoekpilasters gesuggereerd die de houten gootlijst dragen. Op deze verdieping twee T-vormige schuifvensters onder profiellijsten met oren. Tussen de vensters een sierijzeren uithangbord.
In het dakschild een dakkapel onder steekkap met een fronton op pilasters en wangen. Onder het fronton een vierruits dubbel draaivenster.

Plastered facade with wooden shop front on hardstone plinth.
The shop front has a classical arrangement. The wooden corner pilasters stand on a natural stone plinth with diamond-point rustication and bossings. The pilasters support a generously proportioned three-part entablature. In the frieze per section three leaded light windows. Under the two left sections a large single-pane shop window, under the right section a glazed door with fanlight. Between window and door a richly worked wooden mullion, with at its base a lion carrying a shield with "de Vlijt 1856".
In the plastered facade above the shop front pilasters are suggested with phantom joints, which carry the wooden cornice. On this storey two T-shaped sash windows under mouldings with ears. Between the windows an ornamental iron hanging sign.
In the roof panel a roof dormer under a flush gable with a pediment on pilasters and cheeks. Under the pediment a four-pane double sash window.
