Inleiding
Op een hoek gebouwd WINKEL /WOONHUIS uit 1901, naar ontwerp van J.D. Gantvoort. Het ontwerp is uitgevoerd in rijk gedetailleerde Neo-Renaissance stijl, met drie Art Nouveau tegeltableaus in het fries. Voor de winkelverdieping is gebruik gemaakt van een staalskelet, in de gevel is dit te zien aan de puibalken van de winkel.
Omschrijving
Winkelpand opgetrokken in natuur- en baksteen vanaf een rechthoekige plattegrond met afgesnoten hoek over drie bouwlagen onder een met Hollandse pannen gedekt afgeknot schilddak.
Met speklagen en waterlijsten hebben de gevels een horizontale driedeling gekregen. De winkelpui en de gehele plint zijn uitgevoerd in natuursteen. De verdiepingen en de vensters zijn gevat in gepleisterde pilasterstellingen. In de daklijst boven het winkelgedeelte zijn drie friezen beschilderd met florale motieven in Art-Nouveau trant.
De winkelentree bevindt zich in een overhoeks geplaatste travee, die vanaf de verdieping uitkraagt op natuurstenen consoles. Op de verdiepingen een dubbel draairaam met bovenlicht, op twee hoog uitgevoerd als gevelbalkon. De travee wordt afgesloten door een fonton.
In de korte gevel op de begane grond een grote éénruits winkelpui. Op beide verdiepingen twee schuifvensters, de bovenste onder gepleisterde segmentbogen. Op de top een tuitgevel met obelisken op de deklijsten en een fors bemeten drielobbig tuitstuk. In de top met klimmend keperboogfries twee schuifvensters onder rondbogen.
In de lange gevel is een verticale tweedeling gemaakt. Links een winkeltravee met op de begane grond een grote winkelruit. Op de eerste verdieping een nis in een pilasterstelling met een dubbele bekroning op de tweede verdieping. De bekroning bestaat uit pilasters en een halfrond fronton met een Jacobsschelp in het timpaan, daaronder een architraaf en cartouche met jaartal. Binnen de pilasters een tweede halfrond fronton met een rijzende zon in het timpaan, bekroond door een obelisk, op een ingezwenkte architraaf met leeuwenkop en draperie. Deze winkeltravee heeft een tuitgevel als top met obelisken op de deklijsten en een tuitstuk met halfrond fronton. In de top met klimmend keperboogfries een schuifvenster onder rondboog. Rechts in de lange gevel twee vensterassen. Op de begane grond rechts de ontsluiting van de appartementen, een dubbele deels glazen paneeldeur, links een schuifvenster. Op beide verdiepingen twee schuifvensters, de bovenste uitgevoerd als gevelbalkon en onder gepleisterde segmentbogen.

Shop property erected in natural and brick stone from a rectangular ground plan with chamfered corner over three storeys beneath a truncated hipped roof covered with Dutch tiles.
With speckled courses and drip mouldings the facades have been given a horizontal tripartite division. The shop frontage and the entire plinth are executed in natural stone. The floors and the windows are set within rendered pilaster arrangements. In the roof edge above the shop section are three friezes painted with floral motifs in Art Nouveau style.
The shop entrance is located in a diagonally placed bay, which from the floor projects on natural stone consoles. On the floors a double sash window with fanlight, on the second floor executed as a facade balcony. The bay is closed by a pediment.
In the short facade on the ground floor a large single-pane shop window. On both floors two sash windows, the upper ones beneath rendered segmental arches. At the top a spout gable with obelisks on the edge mouldings and a large three-lobed spout section. At the top with climbing herringbone arch frieze two sash windows beneath round arches.
In the long facade a vertical bipartite division is made. On the left a shop bay with on the ground floor a large shop window. On the first floor a niche in a pilaster arrangement with a double crown on the second floor. The crown consists of pilasters and a semicircular pediment with a scallop shell in the tympanum, beneath it an architrave and cartouche with date. Within the pilasters a second semicircular pediment with a rising sun in the tympanum, crowned by an obelisk, on a curved architrave with lion's head and drapery. This shop bay has a spout gable as top with obelisks on the edge mouldings and a spout section with semicircular pediment. At the top with climbing herringbone arch frieze a sash window beneath round arch. On the right in the long facade two window bays. On the ground floor on the right the access to the apartments, a double partly glazed panel door, on the left a sash window. On both floors two sash windows, the upper ones executed as facade balconies and beneath rendered segmental arches.
