Inleiding
Dit in 1881 gebouwde WOONHUIS markeert met de kwartronde hoekbeëindiging de 19de eeuwse oostelijke stadsuitbreiding na het slechten van de vestingwerken. Samen met het aan de overzijde gelegen eveneens kwartronde pand (Mon.nr: 12745, Pikeursbaan 2) vormt het, via de Keizerstraat naar de binnenstad, een monumentale entree.
Het ontwerp is classicistisch geleed en gedetailleerd in stuc en is daarmee een fraai voorbeeld van, in Deventer meer voorkomende, heroriëntering op het 18de eeuwse Classicisme.
Het interieur is gewijzigd als gevolg van diverse verbouwingen.
Omschrijving
Woonhuis van twee bouwlagen met souterrain op rechthoekige grondslag met afgeronde hoek. Opgetrokken in bepleisterde baksteen onder een afgeknot schilddak met leien in rijndekking.
De gevel heeft een horizontale driedeling met een rustica onderbouw, een waterlijst op de verdiepingscheiding en beëindiging door een kroonlijst. De lijsten zijn voorzien van cassettes en diamantkoppen.
Een pilasterstelling zorgt voor verticale geleding. Het kwartronde deel van de gevel is in drie vakken opgedeeld elk met één vensteras. Het vlakke deel is in twee vlakken opgedeeld elk met twee vensterassen. De pilasters hebben een rustica sokkel, cannelures en diamantkoppen op de begane grond, een sokkel met cartouche en cassette op de verdieping en eindigen in een kapiteel met hoofdgestel.
Iedere vensteras heeft onderin een souterrain venster en op de beide bouwlagen daarboven een schuifvenster, de bovenste T-vormig. De vensters zijn gevat in een profiellijst met oren en een sluitsteen. In de tweede vensteras van rechts is op de eerste bouwlaag de entree met stoep in een portiek geplaatst.
Het linker van de twee vlakke geveldelen is hoog opgetrokken tot een dakkapel onder steekkap met fronton die de kroonlijst doorbreekt. In deze geveltop twee T-vormige schuifvensters onder segmentbogen gevat in profiellijsten met sluitsteen. In dit geveldeel op de verdieping een balkon op consoles.
Boven het overhoekse geveldeel een dakkapel met wangen onder segmentboogvormige kap.
Waardering
Woonhuis van algemeen architectuurhistorisch en stedebouwkundig belang:

This DWELLING HOUSE built in 1881 marks with its quarter-round corner termination the 19th-century eastern urban expansion following the demolition of the fortifications. Together with the similarly quarter-round building on the opposite side (Mon.nr: 12745, Pikeursbaan 2), it forms, via the Keizerstraat towards the city centre, a monumental entrance.
The design is classicist in articulation and detailed in stucco and is thereby a fine example of, occurring more frequently in Deventer, reorientation towards 18th-century Classicism.
The interior has been modified as a result of various alterations.
Description
Dwelling house of two storeys with basement on rectangular plan with rounded corner. Built in plastered brickwork under a hipped roof with slates in ridge coverage.
The facade has a horizontal tripartite division with a rusticated base, a drip moulding at the storey separation and termination by a cornice. The mouldings are provided with cassettes and diamond heads.
A pilaster order provides vertical articulation. The quarter-round part of the facade is divided into three bays each with one window section. The flat part is divided into two sections each with two window sections. The pilasters have a rusticated base, fluting and diamond heads on the ground floor, a base with cartouche and cassette on the storey above and end in a capital with entablature.
Each window section has at the bottom a basement window and on both storeys above it a sash window, the upper one T-shaped. The windows are set in a moulded frame with ears and a keystone. In the second window section from the right on the first storey the entrance with step is placed in a portico.
The left of the two flat facade sections is built up high to a dormer under steep roof with pediment that breaks through the cornice. In this gable top two T-shaped sash windows under segmental arches set in moulded frames with keystones. In this facade section on the storey above a balcony on consoles.
Above the corner facade section a dormer with sides under segmentally arched roof.
