Inleiding
In 1876 diende het kerkbestuur een verzoek in bij het gemeentebestuur om een R.K. BEGRAAFPLAATS te mogen aanleggen. Dit verzoek werd in eerste instantie afgewezen omdat op grond van de Begraafwet niet binnen een afstand van 50 meter tot de bebouwde kom begraven mocht worden. De r.k. school lag op een afstand van 37 meter. Later in het jaar werd wel toestemming verleend op voorwaarde dat binnen 50 meter afstand van de school niet zou worden begraven. De begraafplaats werd in 1876/77 aangelegd op een terrein ten noordoosten van de kerk. In 1878 nam de weduwe Maria Lammerts Elerie het initiatief om een ROUWKAPEL te laten bouwen op de begraafplaats en schonk de kerk 1000 gulden. De kapel werd in 1880 gebouwd naar een ontwerp van architect J. Balvert uit Pannerden. Voor dit doel werd het middenpad verbreed. Op de begraafplaats bevinden zich diverse grafzerken waaronder die van de Maria Lammerts Elerie, overleden in 1886, vervaardigd door J. Kalf, een kindergrafje uit 1890 met beeld van een engel zittend op de calvarieberg, met volgende signatuur: D63, August Drechsler, C. Hemnitz, en een graf met opengewerkt gietijzeren kruis met christus uit 1937.
Omschrijving
De begraafplaats is aangelegd op een nagenoeg vierkant terrein dat wordt omzoomd door een schelpenpad, bomen en struiken, en een sloot. Het kruisvormige padenpatroon deelt het terrein in vieren. De rouwkapel ligt aan het einde van de oost-west as.

Introduction
In 1876 the church council submitted a request to the municipal authorities to establish an R.K. CEMETERY.
