Inleiding
LANDHUIS "Driener Marke" is gebouwd in 1930 naar ontwerp van de architect W. Hamdorff in opdracht van A.M. de Koning. Het huis is ontworpen in Amsterdamse Schoolstijl, gebaseerd op organische vormen, waarbij de constructie ondergeschikt is gemaakt aan de plastiek van de totale vorm.
Rechts van de voordeur een gevelsteen met: "Driener Marke 31 mei 1930"De garage is voor de bescherming van ondergeschikt belang.
Omschrijving
Het landhuis is opgetrokken in baksteen vanaf een langwerpige geknikte plattegrond over één bouwlaag onder een rieten wolfdak met glooiende noklijn. In het dakschild zijn welvingen aangebracht waaronder zich de dakvensters bevinden. In de knik van de bouwmassa bevindt zich de centrale kern met daarin het trappehuis. Aan weerszijden van de kern zijn twee vleugels uitgebouwd waarin zich op de begane grond de verblijfsvertrekken bevinden en onder de kap de slaapvertrekken.
De entree bevindt zich aan de binnenhoek van de knik. Het dak heeft hier een overstek op korbelen waardoor een luifel is ontstaan. Rechts van de deur drie hoog opgaande vensters met glas in lood voor het trappenhuis. Daarnaast twee vensters boven laadluiken, met in het dakschild erboven een dakkapel. Links van de entree een dubbel zesruits draairaam. In het dakschild, aan weerszijden van de schoorsteen een dakkapel.
De korte gevel voor het woongedeelte heeft een houten overnaads beschot onder het wolfeind waarin een bandraam van zes zesruitsvensters is opgenomen. Links een overhoekse loggia.
In de buitenhoek van de knik eveneens een geveltop met een houten overnaads beschot onder het wolfeind met dubbel zesruits draaivenster. Ervoor een bordes afgezet met een pergola. In het gevelvlak rechts van de geveltop rechts een drielicht venster, links een eenruits venster en een dakkapel met drielicht venster. Links van de geveltop twee vensters boven laadluiken.
In de korte gevel van de berging een dubbele garagedeur onder een rondboog en een vierruits venster in de geveltop.
Het interieur van het landhuis is onder meer afgewerkt met houten lambrizeringen, parketvloeren en schoorsteenmantels van hout en natuursteen. In de hal liggen plavuizen.
Waardering
Het landhuis is van architectuurhistorisch belang:
- vanwege de gebruikte vormentaal en de kwaliteit van het ontwerp
- als kenmerkend voorbeeld in het oeuvre van de architect

Description
The country house is built in brick from an elongated bent ground plan over one storey under a thatched half-hipped roof with a sloping ridge line. In the roof plane waviness has been introduced under which the roof windows are located. In the bend of the building mass is situated the central core containing the stairwell. On either side of the core two wings are built out containing on the ground floor the living spaces and under the roof the bedrooms.
The entrance is located on the inner corner of the bend. The roof here has an overhang on corbels creating a canopy. To the right of the door three tall windows with stained glass for the stairwell. Next to them two windows above loading flaps, with a dormer above them in the roof plane. To the left of the entrance a double six-pane casement window. In the roof plane, on either side of the chimney a dormer.

The interior of the country house is finished with, amongst other things, wooden wainscoting, parquet floors and chimney breasts of wood and natural stone. The hall is laid with tiles.
