Inleiding
BOSWACHTERSWONING uit 1912 in eclectische trant ontworpen door de architect J.W. Janssen uit Hengelo in opdracht van de Hengelose fabrikant O. Stork. De woning behoort bij Huize Oosterhof op het landgoed Lonnekermeer in de gemeente Weerselo (Nieuwe Grensweg 2 / WSL 135) De gemeentegrens loopt over het landgoed waardoor de dienstwoning in Enschede staat en de rest van het ensemble in Weerselo. Het landhuis is in 1901 in opdracht van de Hengelose fabrikant Otto Stork gebouwd naar een ontwerp van de architect Karel Muller. In het voorste gedeelte van het pand was oorspronkelijk het woonhuis en in het achterste gedeelte het koetshuis ondergebracht. Door de verbouwing tot woonhuis is het pand inwendig gewijzigd. De woning staat op de hoek van de Nieuwe Grensweg en de oprijlaan naar Huize Oosterhof.
Omschrijving
Pand van één bouwlaag op rechthoekige plattegrond onder overstekend zadeldak dat met rode muldenpannen is gedekt. Boven de middenrisalieten van de voor- en achtergevel (N en Z) steekt de kap ver over. De gevels zijn boven een natuurstenen plint opgetrokken in bruine baksteen en versierd met horizontale banden van witte verblendsteen. Boven het samengestelde venster in het middenrisaliet van de voorgevel (N) een zoldervenster met stolpraam en bovenlicht. In de zijgevels van het risaliet en links in de voorgevel vensters met bovenlicht, rechts een deur. De vensters zijn uitgevoerd met een zandstenen waterdorpel en latei.
De wit geschilderde luiken van de begane grondvensters zijn voorzien van een rode zandloper. In de zijgevels (O en W) aan beide zijden een venster met bovenlicht en luiken als in de voorgevel. De ingangspartij in de oostgevel geeft toegang tot de keuken, in de westgevel een staldeur tussen twee venstertjes. Boven de grote inrijdeuren tussen kleine venstertjes in het middenrisaliet van de achtergevel (Z) een vensterpartij. Aan weerszijden van het risaliet rechtgesloten staldeuren onder lateien.

FORESTER'S LODGE built in 1912 in eclectic style designed by architect J.W. Janssen from Hengelo on commission of Hengelo manufacturer O. Stork. The dwelling belongs to Huize Oosterhof on the Lonnekermeer estate in the municipality of Weerselo (Nieuwe Grensweg 2 / WSL 135). The municipal boundary runs across the estate, which means the service dwelling is located in Enschede and the rest of the ensemble in Weerselo. The country house was built in 1901 on commission of Hengelo manufacturer Otto Stork according to a design by architect Karel Muller. In the front section of the building was originally the residence and in the rear section the carriage house. The conversion into a residence has internally altered the building. The dwelling is located on the corner of Nieuwe Grensweg and the driveway to Huize Oosterhof.
Description
Building of one storey on rectangular ground plan under an overhanging gabled roof covered with red curved tiles. Above the central risalits of the front and rear facades (N and S) the roof extends far over. The facades are built above a natural stone plinth in brown brick and decorated with horizontal bands of white facing brick. Above the composite window in the central risalit of the front facade (N) an attic window with a skylight and fanlight. In the side facades of the risalit and on the left of the front facade windows with fanlights, on the right a door. The windows are executed with a sandstone drip moulding and lintel.
The white painted shutters of the ground floor windows are provided with a red sand-glass decoration. In the side facades (E and W) on both sides a window with fanlight and shutters as in the front facade. The entrance section in the east facade provides access to the kitchen, in the west facade a stable door between two small windows. Above the large double doors between small windows in the central risalit of the rear facade (S) a window section. On either side of the risalit right-angled stable doors under lintels.
