Omschrijving
TANKHINDERNIS gesitueerd aan de noordoostzijde van de kazematopstelling op het buiten- en binnentalud van de Afsluitdijk. De V-vormig aangelegde hindernis bestaat uit gewapend betonnen, rechthoekige bodemplaten, waarin oorspronkelijk gevat waren, in lengterichting, drie rijen betonpalen met wapening van stalen H-profiel. Volledig behouden zijn deze betonpalen op bodemplaten nog nabij de Waddenzee-oever. Over een lengte van 150 meter loopt de tankhindernis schuin noordoostwaarts omhoog tot de kruin van de dijk. Aan de kruin maakt de versperring een scherpe knik, om vervolgens schuin in richting zuid-zuidwest naar beneden te gaan, oorspronkelijk over een lengte van 190 meter, thans resteert ongeveer 30 meter.
Waardering
De tankhindernis is als belangwekkend historisch-functioneel onderdeel van de Stelling bij Den Oever van algemeen belang.

Description
TANK OBSTACLE situated on the north-east side of the casemate installation on the outer and inner slope of the Afsluitdijk. The V-shaped obstacle consists of reinforced concrete rectangular base plates, in which were originally contained, in the lengthwise direction, three rows of concrete piles with reinforcement of steel H-profile. These concrete piles on base plates are completely preserved still near the Waddenzee shore. Over a length of 150 metres the tank obstacle runs diagonally north-eastwards up to the crest of the dike. At the crest the barrier makes a sharp bend, then runs diagonally in a south-south-west direction downwards, originally over a length of 190 metres, now approximately 30 metres remain.
Valuation
The tank obstacle is as an important historical-functional component of the Stelling bij Den Oever of general importance.
