Inleiding
De Nederlands Hervormde BEGRAAFPLAATS is in 1820 aangelegd tussen de muren van de gereformeerde kerk van Wilsveen. Deze kerk werd in 1684 gebouwd naar ontwerp van Jacob Roman en gesloopt om aan de dringende behoefte aan begraafplaatsen te kunnen voldoen, die ontstond nadat de Wilsveense kerkgemeente samengevoegd was met die van Leidschendam. In 1995 is aan de noord-oostzijde van de begraafplaats een rechthoekig gedeelte toegevoegd. Tevens is toen langs de wegkant een nieuw houten hek geplaatst, dat samen met de al aanwezige opslagloods voor de bescherming van rijkswege van ondergeschikt belang is. De begraafplaats ligt ten zuiden van het Wilsveen, de weg van Leidschendam naar Zoetermeer.
Omschrijving
Verhoogd gelegen, van oorsprong vierkante begraafplaats (ongeveer 20 bij 20 meter). De toegang via een hek bevindt zich ten zuid-westen van de heuvel aan het Wilsveen, vanwaar een tegelpad onder twee haakse hoeken naar de top van de heuvel leidt. Op de top is het oorspronkelijke gedeelte van de begraafplaats aan drie zijden (zuid, west en noord) omzoomd door een bakstenen muur met ezelsrug. Op de hoeken en uiteinden van de muur bevinden zich kolommen met hardstenen dekplaat, waarvan enkele nog hun oorspronkelijke pinakelvormige bekroning hebben. Aan de zuidwest-zijde van de top is een serie van iets verhoogde hardstenen graven aanwezig. Verder op de top en in de hellingen hardstenen en marmeren staande en liggende grafzerken. Begroeiing: de heuvel is aan vier zijden omzoomd door een rij hoog opgaande bomen, voornamelijk beuk. Ook staan er bomen op de met klimop bedekte hellingen (eik en beuk). Op de top bevindt zich een treurwilg.

The Dutch Reformed CEMETERY was laid out in 1820 within the walls of the Reformed church of Wilsveen. Raised cemetery, originally square in shape (approximately 20 by 20 metres). Access via a gate is located to the south-west of the mound at the Wilsveen, from which a tiled path under two right angles leads to the top of the mound. The original section of the cemetery is bordered on three sides (south, west and north) by a brick wall with a half-hipped roof profile. At the corners and ends of the wall there are columns with stone coping, some of which still have their original pinnacle-shaped crowning. On the south-west side of the top there is a series of slightly raised stone graves. Further on the top and on the slopes are stone and marble upright and recumbent gravestones. Vegetation: the mound is bordered on four sides by a row of tall trees, mainly beech. There are also trees on the ivy-covered slopes (oak and beech). On the top there is a weeping willow.
