Omschrijving
Sluiswachterskantoor bestaande uit één bouwlaag op L-vormige plattegrond onder haaks op elkaar geplaatste zadeldaken met leien in Rijndekking. De noklijn van de korte vleugel ligt iets lager dan die van de lange vleugel. In de oksel van beide vleugels een halfronde uitbouw met ingangspartij onder een zinken helmdak. Tegen het midden van de westgevel eveneens een halfronde uitbouw met ingangspartij. Het pand is opgetrokken in rode baksteen boven een hoge plint van hardstenen rusticablokken. De gevels zijn rijk gedecoreerd met natuurstenen waterslaglijsten, hoekblokken, consoles, wapenschilden, pilasters, tableaus en kopornamenten. De hoge in- en uitzwenkende geveltoppen van de kopgevels zijn voorzien van natuurstenen pinakels en voluutornamenten, de tuit wordt afgesloten door een fronton. Op de begane grond overwegend kruisvensters en in de geveltoppen houten luiken onder rondbogen. Boven de kleine vensters rollagen. De hoofdentree bevindt zich in het risaliet met topgevel aan de Delftsekade (zuidgevel). In totaal vijf dakkapellen onder zinken kapjes. Op de nok van de hoofdvleugel een gemetselde schoorsteen. Op een tableau in de voorgevel de geschiedenis van het sluiscomplex.

Het sluiswachterskantoor is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische waarde als functioneel onderdeel van het negentiende eeuwse sluiscomplex van Leidschendam. Het sluiswachterskantoor is tevens van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische waarde wegens de zeer rijk geornamenteerde Neo-Hollandse Renaissancestijl. Voorts is de sluiswachterswoning in hoge mate van stedebouwkundig belang vanwege de ruimtelijke samenhang met de overige complexonderdelen en bezit de sluiswachterswoning situationele waarde vanwege de beeldbepalende ligging in het beschermde dorpsgezicht van Leidschendam.

Sluice keeper's office consisting of one storey on an L-shaped floor plan under mutually perpendicular gabled roofs with slate in Rhine pattern. The ridge line of the short wing is slightly lower than that of the long wing. In the corner of both wings a semi-circular extension with entrance section under a zinc helmet roof. Against the middle of the west gable likewise a semi-circular extension with entrance section. The building is constructed of red brick above a high plinth of rusticated stone blocks. The facades are richly decorated with natural stone drip mouldings, corner blocks, consoles, coats of arms, pilasters, tableaus and copper ornaments. The high in- and outswinging gable tops of the end gables are provided with natural stone pinnacles and volute ornaments, the spout is closed off by a pediment. On the ground floor predominantly cross windows and in the gable tops wooden shutters under rounded arches. Above the small windows roll mouldings. The main entrance is located in the risalit with top gable on the Delftsekade (south gable). In total five roof dormers under zinc caps. On the ridge of the main wing a brick chimney.
