Omschrijving
Omschrijving onderdeel 4B: Het HEK van de zij-ingang, Derde kwart negentiende eeuw.
Het hek staat op de dam in de westelijke arm van de buitengracht: twee dunne ronde gietijzeren pijlers met cannelures; ertussen twee eenvoudige smeedijzeren hekvleugels, naar het midden toe hoger wordend, met ronde spijlen, eindigend in gietijzeren punten. NB: de bakstenen pijlers direct naast het hek zijn later toegevoegd om het hek extra steun te geven en zijn daarom van ondergeschikt belang.

Het HEK van de zij-ingang is van algemeen belang:

Description of component 4B: The GATE of the side entrance, Third quarter nineteenth century.
The gate stands on the dam in the western arm of the external moat: two slender round cast-iron pillars with fluting; between them two simple wrought-iron gate wings, becoming higher toward the centre, with round bars, ending in cast-iron points. NB: the brick pillars directly next to the gate were added later to give the gate extra support and are therefore of secondary importance.
