Inleiding
Vrijstaande voormalige ARBEIDERSWONING, daterend uit de tweede helft van de 19de eeuw. Het pand is gesitueerd nabij het buurtschap Abbestede. Het pand is anno 1995 in gebruik als kunstenaarsatelier.
N.B. De aanbouw aan de noordwestelijke kopgevel, de aanbouw aan de noordoostzijde en het grote dakvenster in de rieten kap vallen niet onder de bescherming.
Omschrijving
Op rechthoekig grondplan gebouwde vrijstaande arbeiderswoning, bestaande uit één bouwlaag onder een met riet gedekt dak. Op de nok zijn rode vorstpannen aangebracht. De noklijn wordt doorsneden door een vierkanten schoorsteen. De noklijn staat loodrecht op de Abbestederweg. Het pand is opgetrokken in baksteen.
De noordwestelijke kopgevel (NW) bevat op de begane grond over de gehele breedte van de kopgevel een (niet beschermde) aanbouw onder ingestoken zadeldak. De topgevel is nog ten dele zichtbaar en is voorzien van verticaal beschot en heeft een klein vierkanten houten venster. De gevel wordt afgesloten door windveren met nokmakelaar en riet.
De zuidwestelijke gevel (ZW) heeft één vensteras met een rechthoekig houten T-venster met schuifraam. Het venster heeft een bakstenen lekdorpel en is voorzien van luiken.
De zuidoostelijke kopgevel (ZO) bevat op de begane grond twee vensterassen, elk met een rechthoekig houten T-venster met schuifraam en bakstenen lekdorpel. De topgevel is voorzien van verticaal beschot en bevat een rechthoekige opgeklampte deur met drieruits-bovenlicht. De topgevel wordt afgesloten door windveren, nokmakelaar en riet.
De noordoostelijke gevel (NO) heeft over driekwart van de gevel een (niet beschermde) aanbouw. In het rieten dakschild is een groot (niet beschermd) venster aangebracht.
Waardering
Het pand is van algemeen belang als historisch functioneel onderdeel van het complex arbeiderswoningen in het nollengebied van Callantsoog. Daarnaast is het pand van belang als merendeels gaaf bewaard gebleven voorbeeld van een arbeiderswoning uit de tweede helft van de 19de eeuw op het Noordhollandse platteland.

Description
Detached workers' dwelling built on a rectangular ground plan, consisting of one storey under a thatched roof. Red frost tiles have been applied to the ridge. The ridge line is crossed by a square chimney. The ridge line is perpendicular to the Abbestederweg. The property is constructed in brick.
The northwestern gable end (NW) contains over the full width of the gable end on the ground floor an (unprotected) extension under recessed gabled roof. The top gable is still partly visible and is provided with vertical boarding and has a small square wooden window. The gable is finished with wind braces with ridge bracket and thatch.
The southwestern gable (SW) has one window bay with a rectangular wooden T-window with sash window. The window has a brick drip moulding and is provided with shutters.
The southeastern gable end (SO) contains on the ground floor two window bays, each with a rectangular wooden T-window with sash window and brick drip moulding. The top gable is provided with vertical boarding and contains a rectangular clamped door with three-pane fanlight. The top gable is finished with wind braces, ridge bracket and thatch.
The northeastern gable (NO) has over three-quarters of the gable an (unprotected) extension. A large (unprotected) window has been installed in the thatched roof panel.
Valuation
The property is of general importance as a historically functional component of the complex of workers' dwellings in the nollen area of Callantsoog. Furthermore, the property is of importance as a largely well-preserved example of a workers' dwelling from the second half of the 19th century in the North Holland countryside.
