PARK LAYOUT, consisting of a. drive b. park to the south and southwest of the house c. orchard d. kitchen garden e. Gadiot wood with meadow. Ad a.: The drive runs from the gate lodge (see component 3) at the Rijksweg to just near the house and the ruin (see component 5); rubble-with-gravel surface and on both sides a single row of old lime trees, 19th century; along the trees on the outside low round natural stone bollards connected by iron rods. At the end of the drive (viewed from the gate lodge) stands a very striking old red beech (early 19th century?) directly next to the house. From the conservatory at the main building a fine view of the drive and the beech. Ad b.: Directly to the southwest of the house on the steep slope lies the large central lawn, in which a kidney-shaped pond (1989: not worthy of protection therefore) and the southern tower of the medieval castle complex (see component 5). To the east of the lawn a wood with a couple of old trees, 19th century. Ad c.: To the north of the house with orangery and the central lawn lies an orchard; with the exception of a single old tree most of the fruit trees have been recently planted. Ad d.: In the southeast corner of the complex, where the Stationsstraat meets the Rijksweg, lies the former kitchen garden; this plot was alienated in 1987, but in visual terms is still part of the country estate; on this plot also stands the service cottage (see component 4). Ad e.: The Gadiot wood and the adjacent meadow were also sold to third parties in the nineteen-eighties.
