Omschrijving
FONTEINTJE in een rond BASSIN, gelegen in het centrum van de zgn. "lage tuin". De fontein verbeeldt een meermin met twee staarten die een waterspuwende vis draagt. Dit loden fonteintje werd omstreeks 1915 gegoten naar een ijzeren voorbeeld dat zich in de collectie van Victor de Stuers op de Parkstraat te 's-Gravenhage bevond en in het ronde bassin geplaatst. Het voorbeeldexemplaar werd in 1921 naar De Wiersse gebracht. De aanvoer van het water voor deze fontein, alsmede voor de fontein in het kommetje bij de charmille, loopt vanaf de drukketel in het bouwhuis, waarbij gebruik wordt gemaakt van een eigen bron. Om het bassin ligt een stapelmuurtje op vierkante plattegrond met vier trapjes uit 1913.

Description
SMALL FOUNTAIN in a round BASIN, located in the centre of the so-called "lower garden". The fountain depicts a mermaid with two tails carrying a water-spouting fish. This lead small fountain was cast around 1915 after an iron model that was in the collection of Victor de Stuers on the Parkstraat in 's-Gravenhage and was placed in the round basin. The original model was brought to De Wiersse in 1921. The water supply for this fountain, as well as for the fountain in the small basin by the hornbeam hedge, runs from the pressure tank in the service building, using a private spring. Around the basin is a dry-stone wall on a square ground plan with four steps from 1913.
